🇧🇷 "Government-to-person transfers for social assistance programs have been transformed by Fast Payment Systems (#FPS) in several markets. The Brazilian government leveraged its FPS, called #Pix, to disperse stimulus funds to nearly 70 million beneficiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic despite 40 per cent of recipients being unbanked. This feature enabled the government to transfer stimulus money to an estimated 30 million unbanked citizens": William Reinsch. 🇮🇳 International remittances are another area where FPSs have boosted efficiency. For example, the central banks of #Singapore and #India agreed to interlink their FPSs in February 2023, facilitating instantaneous, convenient, and safe transfers from Indian migrant workers to their families. 🤳🏿Research from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) explores the extent to which FPSs have truly improved participation in the formal financial system using survey data from #Brazil, #CostaRica, #India, and #Thailand to unearth the impact of FPSs on developing market economies.

According to Dilip Ratha, Lead Economist; Manager - Migration and Remittances at the World Bank, "For many countries, money transfers from citizens working abroad are a lifeline for development." At this time, there is a dire need for remittance platforms to ensure seamless and affordable remittances. Why? Millions of lives depend on these money transfers from citizens abroad. We are immigrants ourselves, and we see it as our responsibility to lower remittance costs by deploying legitimate measures. We are making this happen through our P2P and "democratized" remittance model. Join us on this journey; the journey to make remittances affordable for all. Ref: https://lnkd.in/ekhZf7ip
