Insights from class at the Banking School🏫 Over the weeks we had a class on Credit Analysis where we discussed the fundamentals of credit and credit process. I got to know that through credit intermediation, banks can rapidly support enterprise and invariably grow the economy. We discussed the major credit products and their peculiarities and also the legal aspects of lending, and the 5c’s of lending- Character, Capacity, Collateral, Condition and Capacity. In today's session, we delved into the importance of poise and personal branding in the banking industry. Poise: Maintaining composure and confidence, It's about staying calm under pressure, making thoughtful decisions, and projecting professionalism as well as building character Personal Branding: Crafting a strong personal brand involves showcasing ones unique strengths, values, and expertise. It's about building a reputation that speaks for itself. HSBC Surges 5%, Reaching Highest Level Since 2018 on Earnings Beat 📈 HSBC's Q3 profit rose 10% to $8.5 billion, ahead of estimates of $7.6 billion, as it benefited from slower-than-expected rate cuts, which had been anticipated to put more pressure on lending margins. Revenue grew 5% in the quarter to $17 billion from a year earlier, with volatile market conditions supporting higher customer activity in wealth products. The bank’s fresh $3 billion share buyback brings the total amount announced this year to $9 billion.
