Shooters in houses of worship. Gangs attacking mass transit commuters in New York. Deadly road and club/bar rage. Youngsters killing youngsters. Antisemitic, racial attacks on campuses and public spaces. Media that feeds on and entertains with violent news clips and programming. Political circles that further divide for advantage. We have long since abandoned our dedication to civil society and become a house divided. We are strangers to one another and to ourselves. The center no longer can hold. And enemies are at the door. So where do we go from here? First, we need to take a long look at ourselves. Do we in what we say and do contribute even in a small way to the discord/negativity around us? Do we look for/bring out the best or the worst in others? How does that reflect our attitude toward ourselves? Do we do exactly what our employer/client wants even if that may not be for the best of our community? Do we spend most of our time working and what’s left with family/friends? Do we ever spend time in prayer? Perhaps it’s a good time to reflect on the Civil War – in which more people died in our country than in all the wars combined – and meditate on what President Lincoln said at Gettysburg. https://lnkd.in/esTB3uBf

I'm continue watching "The Impact" documentary and I'm really shocked by how easily people were manipulated in the 1993 Waco tragedy. Anti-cultists, through media and law enforcement, turned peaceful American citizens into 'dangerous cultists' in the public eye. The Branch Davidians became victims of a horrifying misinformation campaign, leading to their brutal siege and deaths. 76 people, including 25 children, lost their lives - not because they were dangerous, but because they were dehumanized by anti-cult extremists. Chronology of impact: - Anti-cultists label Branch Davidians as a 'dangerous cult' - Media spreads unverified, sensationalized claims - Law enforcement, influenced by anti-cultists, plans aggressive raid - 51-day siege begins, fueled by manipulated public opinion - Tragic assault leads to deaths of innocent Americans - Anti-cultists continue to spread misinformation, cementing false narrative We must learn from this to prevent future tragedies. FLORIDA IS IN PLAY We're sick of the most wealthy of white landowners telling us that trans people hurt kids but guns don't. We're sick of Rick Scott, the biggest Welfare fraud in U.S. History, telling us that our grandparents don't need elder care. We're sick of little boys like Matt Gaetz, riding their family's wealth to a place in government despite being a known pederast and underage prostitute jon. We're sick of miserable MAGA telling us that this orange make-up wearing, fascist, rapist, fraudster, insurrectionist, Putin cuckold, traitor and ally extortionist is the savior of The USA when he's dismantling it piece by piece before our eyes. WAKE THE FUCK UP FLORIDA We are not stupid in Florida. We're just asleep. There are a lot more of us than them. We can either keep going, losing rights slowly through formerly illegal government actions OR we can vote for a person who actually gives a shit about the people, the government, the future, our lives, and our freedoms. MAGA VS THE USA Make America Great Again is a nice slogan. We've had plenty of time for them to define what it means though. It means Project 2025 and King Trump. 1. 41 of 47 authors of Project 2025 are Trump advisors. 2. The stated goal of Project 2025 is to "Institutionalize Trumpism." But Trump has no idea what it is, likes parts of it and other parts, not so much, BUT HE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT = derelict or nearly dysfunctionally stupid. THE FUTURE He's old, so he won't have any compunction doing whatever the hell he wants. He has the people in place to facilitate his coup. Absolutely and be willing to have these conversations with children in general. I personally suggest "Something Happend in Our Town" on racial injustice from 2 families perspectives. Librarians and Teachers include displays on "Tough Topics", "Decolonizing Thanksgiving", diverse representation all year round and not just on featured months like "Black history is U.S. History". There are HUGE gaps in children's books still and needs to be filled despite the rise of ongoing book bans throughout the nation. What books do you recommend and how do you help fill the gap?

Obviously as is absolutely the case with regards to every discipline and profession, there are, of course "bad/ corrupted criminals-in-disguise", effectively. That must be rooted out. However, if you are going to let an exceptionally tiny minority of such sorry excuses-for people justify your not actively supporting the #thinblueline, then you are absolutely one of the also exceptionally tiny but - generally - obnoxiously-loud minority, who are a giant part of the problem. That is, the problem of the very deliberate dividing of this nation, the epidemic of crime in far too many formerly safe cities and towns and generally, the continuing breakdown of law and order, the Rule of Law and the emerging reign of an increasingly-obvious also very deliberate, Two-Tiered so-called "Justice" system. +++ But that's just what I think might be happening and might be some of the causes.
