Excited to share our latest systematic review on the impact of SGLT2 inhibitors on kidney function in Muslim patients with type 2 diabetes during Ramadan. Our analysis of studies from 2013-2023 found that SGLT2 inhibitors do not significantly alter eGFR, suggesting their safety for use during fasting. Comparison of Thyroid Function Tests Among Type 2 Diabetes Patients With and Without Diabetic Nephropathy and Controls

#EASD ➡ Study reveals key predictors for achieving and sustaining blood glucose control and weight loss with tirzepatide in adults with type 2 diabetes ◾ The most important factors predicting glycaemic control or clinically meaningful weight loss include prior glucose levels, duration of type 2 diabetes, the patient’s existing glucose-lowering medicines, and being female. ◾ Up to 83% of adults treated with tirzepatide for longer than one year sustained blood glucose targets and/or clinically significant weight loss for up to another year. ◾ The main factors predicting sustained blood sugar and weight control include better beta-cell function, higher weight loss, and a greater decrease in LDL-C or “bad cholesterol” in the first year of tirzepatide therapy. 📰 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/enYqTHuz
