This is what I experienced using Commuter Line this morning. I can understand why Jakartans are so tough compared to other cities. Imagine going through this kind of situation every morning and every afternoon. This is why development public transportation is very important. Eventhhough I have to experience this havoc, I still prefer using combined Commuterline and Transjakarta. For me, it doesn't make any sense at all using private vehicles in Jakarta. What is your thought ? #commute #publictransportation #city #urban

#30DayMapChallenge 🗺 | Day 2: Lines 🛣 Jakarta, features a complex road layout characterized by its mix of modern highways and older streets. has several major highways, including the Jakarta Inner Ring Road (JORR) and the Jakarta Outer Ring Road. These routes help manage traffic flow across the city. Jakarta is also known for heavy traffic, especially during rush hours. The layout includes dedicated lanes for motorcycles, which are common in the city. Addressing the traffic congestion will be a challenging task for the new governor given the current road layout. Innovative yet practical measures are necessary to encourage citizens from all backgrounds to utilize public transportation.

🎉 It’s been five years since the Mass Rapid Transit (PT. MRT Jakarta) Phase 1 North-South Line became operational. The MRT has undoubtedly increased the mobility of people commuting within Jakarta and from outside the city, serving a total of 120 million commuters. With this success, we have now started to see the construction of new MRT lines connecting more areas across Jakarta. 🚝 ❓ But how might we provide better public transportation services to continue meeting the needs of its users and contribute greater impact to society? 🌏 At United Nations Global Pulse we have used service design in numerous projects over the years. This methodology helps us evaluate existing services or when designing new ones, by looking at systems more holistically. It considers all the elements to help us better understand the varying contexts within and outside the system to ensure services can be delivered more effectively and sustainably. If this is an area you’re interested in exploring further, we would love to chat in more detail about how service design can be used to evaluate and support the ongoing development of MRT lines! Update: Our latest geospatial analyses of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) pollution across West Java and the entire island of Java reveal varying levels of this significant air pollutant impacting urban and rural communities. In West Java, our focus areas include Jakarta, South Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Bandung. The island-wide map further highlights pollution hotspots in major urban centers such as Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. Why Does This Matter? Property Valuation : High NO₂ levels can reduce property demand and values. Our detailed pollution maps empower real estate professionals and buyers to consider environmental factors when making decisions. Risk Assessment : Understanding NO₂ pollution risks is crucial for insurers and financial institutions. Areas with high pollution levels may lead to increased health risks, impacting insurance costs. Our data aids in accurate risk assessment. Economic Growth : Clean air is essential for a thriving economy. High pollution levels can deter investment, reduce productivity, and increase healthcare costs. By identifying pollution hotspots, policymakers and businesses can promote sustainable economic growth. At Geosquare.ai, we offer comprehensive insights and detailed maps crucial for urban planning, public health, and environmental protection. #GeospatialAnalysis #EnvironmentalData #AirPollution #PropertyValuation #RiskAssessment #EconomicGrowth #GeosquareAI #SustainableCities

Unraveling the Crossroads: A Deep Dive into the Menteri Supeno-Batikan Intersection The bustling intersection of Menteri Supeno and Batikan in Yogyakarta is a complex urban nexus that demands careful examination. Our research team has embarked on a comprehensive study to understand the intricate interplay of visibility, connectivity, and circulation at this vital junction. By employing a rigorous methodology, we aim to: - Assess visibility: Analyze the visual environment to identify potential obstructions and hazards that may compromise road user safety. - Evaluate connectivity: Examine the efficiency of traffic flow and the impact of infrastructure design on overall mobility. - Investigate circulation patterns: Study the behavior of pedestrians and vehicles to optimize traffic management strategies. Through this research, we hope to contribute to the development of evidence-based solutions that will enhance road safety, reduce congestion, and improve the overall quality of life for Yogyakarta's residents. #urbanplanning #transportationengineering #trafficengineering #yogyakarta #research #infrastructure #sustainability #cityplanning #civilengineering #roadsafety

Liveable cities are those that focus on providing a high quality of life, with an emphasis on the physical, social and mental comfort and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Liveability is characterized by a cities ability to meet the diverse needs of its residents through thoughtful urban planning that prioritises affordability, access to essential services and amenities, efficient transportation and walkable neighborhoods, safety and security, cultural diversity and sustainability. Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 in Jakarta, Indonesia is an example of a project where TOWNLAND has carefully crafted a liveable city. PIK 2 is designed to balance high-density urban development within a natural coastal setting. Aspects which have been carefully considered when designing the Project include accessibility, economic viability, environmental quality, providing complete amenities and services and promoting socio-cultural elements. PIK2 is considered to be one of the most advanced premium Township developments in Greater Jakarta and we are proud to continue to play an active role in its evolution and implementation.
