In the fiscal year 2024, the Indian IT sector led by behemoths such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Wipro, encountered a confluence of challenges and strategic pivots. Notably, the sector faced a collective headcount reduction, a downturn in the US revenue, a fluctuating performance in the BFSI sector, and a paradox of rising deal wins not translating into equivalent revenue growth. This complex scenario unfolded alongside proactive strides into artificial intelligence and #GenAI, areas that both promise future gains but are currently shadowed by a cautious market outlook.

Is the institution building managers or leaders? Culture is most important. If you spend hell lot of time and money on building and making managers, they will do the same - at least that will be the norm. A few may be exceptional. Few organizations pay lot of money to people who defend the culture - management but do not produce any palpable output or product / service in the form of code or data or information or anything else. you are just spending money of defending and it is only a cost. the real benefit and good brand value comes from people who honestly believe they are learning and earning. Anti human people culture will not give out leaders. #AHPculture https://lnkd.in/gBdPPmpM

its been a long time since am out of software but the bad memories still linger. could have done far better. Venkat Naraina was one of the managers and we were both working in Wipro wanted to get into software development from testing, but the structure of Wipro did not allow me to do so. during the stay from 2001 to 2003 was never happy even for a single day. it was always harassment in one way or the other. no respect for human emotions. felt that my career was just a game for them. remember him telling few things in 2003 when i quit. let me see how you will do well - 2003 will you never get angry? culture was to make us do what they want to do. they set up plot and expect us to go to them. i did not go. but chose to leave the company. again. there is no proof for all these. now am not in software also. looking to find my place in my life and career. just remembering the old times. do not have any contact with them and do not wish to have in future as well. just reminiscing the old times. what happens when you are not happy the way you are looking at each other. it's a great organization for many. may be, it was not for ME. Tried to drag them to the court but in vain, the advocate cited lack of evidence and hence may not hold. so, what, will never ever wish to work there again. Prefer a legal action against them even today if there was enough evidence against them for having faced the hardships. will not wish them well, ever. have moved on and happy that am not part of that organization. no regrets whatsoever for not being associated with Wipro though, learned technically and otherwise. its always lessons learned and moving on.

Try Again... Fail Again... Hi Everyone, I would like to share my personal experience to you for your valuable suggestion and support. From last few months I have attended more that a dozen of interviews from our top IT Companies. I have relevant Qualification, Experience and Skills. But I have trust on myself that I can achieve what I want. Believe in yourself. In a first in 20 years Tata Consultancy Services Infosys Wipro together report huge loss in employee strength in FY24 - 63,759👨💻. ⚠️Such a substantial loss in employee strength could negatively impact the overall employment rate in the country, leading to increased unemployment levels. 📈The IT sector is a key contributor to India's GDP growth. A decline in the workforce of major IT companies may slow down the sector's growth rate, affecting the overall economic growth of the country. 🗺India's position as a global leader in the IT outsourcing industry could be challenged if major companies continue to face losses in employee strength, affecting the country's competitiveness in the global market. #technology #itservices #wipro #infosys #TCS #techmahindra #techworkforce #techskills #economicrepercussions #India .

Started software only for continuous learning and growth it can provide. am proud that the companies all over the world are following the learning model despite the different work culture. People change their jobs because of so many reasons that are professional and personal to them. Nobody in the industry is forced to stay in any given organization or work for free. Everyone has the right to start off on their own as well. there are many startups that have flourished. few have buckled as well. it is all left to the people and their choices. the market and the world are not owned by a few sets of rich people instead the platform is open for anyone who prove themselves. the only thing that is constant is evolution and taking forward humanity and people have respected that. organizations compete with each other, there is rat race, there is politics, there is war for talent. Despite all this software and tech has always been on the humane side. Now with AI people are feeling afraid of tech and ethics and morals. the threat was always there and will continue to be there. It is always about the people behind and not the technology that is neutral. it has always kept its head high and has not made anyone gain greedily or someone suffer badly. the only relentless focus was to seek knowledge, make money and be happy. organizations chasing only money have vanished and those chasing knowledge and people's happiness have built legacies. am finding the same work ethic here in Mylapore, a continuous learning and happening place, fun and lots of joy. will always work toward the work ethics of a software organization that is always learning, working smart and working towards making humanity better. will always work towards software defined social world - future is to learn from each other, celebrate the diversity. the future started in india when great organizations like Wipro, Infosys started #amritkaal https://lnkd.in/g6vx5ab7

Journey to the top gets lonely? No, unless if we choose to be. Life is all about figuring out where you want to be? How you want to get there is in your hands and is your choice. Narendra Modi ji was a chaiwala and he CHOSE to work for the people of India and he chose politics was the best way to do it. He has been living his life completely dedicated to the nation. He never dreamt of being the most influential man in the world. Power is temporary, his patriotism and his will to do well for the country is permanent. NRN, Premji, Tata and all stalwarts have chosen their own journey and only the path was their choice. They never dreamt of being so immensely successful in the world, today they can shape the future of humanity. the destination is decided only by the people or public at large. every great person only chases his passion or work and the path, but the destination is not always dependent only on his choice. today, whenever I see Kohli on the field, am very impressed about his commitment to the game. Today, he has all the money for few generations and yet he is so committed to his love of cricket. He is as keen as his first game of cricket. Rahul Dravid had once told - every ball is a new game or new inning. one has to build it ball by ball. the only power we have is to play the ball according to the merit. Same thing with music, every song is a new innings. every album is a new start. we choose only the path and not the destination. https://lnkd.in/gb_MwMwT #amritkaal #swachswabhimaanshrestbharat

India's $254-billion IT sector is shifting from workforce expansion to automation and advanced technologies. This transformation has led to changes in hiring patterns, with a net reduction of 2,587 employees in FY24's December quarter, contrasting with the 15,033 additions in the September quarter. While Infosys and HCLTech added 7,725 employees, TCS, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra reported workforce declines.

Customer: Where is the offshore lead? I need to decide my production plan. Onsite Coordinator: We've lost her. Customer: When? How? Holy sh**! How did it happen? Oh no, did you go to the police? Onsite Coordinator: No... um... I mean, she's no longer with us. Customer: Oh no, that's really bad. She was phenomenal, a wonderful lady. My condolences to her soul. Onsite Coordinator: Actually, she has left the company. Customer: First things first, you could have told me this earlier in the conversation. Yes, when we say we've lost the employee, the meaning could be taken like in the above conversation. So, appropriate terms need to be used. In other cases, "lost" means absconding. With that meaning, can I imply from this post that 69K+ employees are just lost, and the police and their families are not able to find them? Absolutely not. This is the case of resignation and termination. These companies have learned to camouflage people by using beautiful terms. Media and these companies do not use direct terms like termination and resignation; instead, they choose to use a new word, which is "lost," rather than "termination" and "resignation.". Only God knows when these companies will be little bit sensible and respectful to people.
In the fiscal year 2024, the top five Indian IT services companies—Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, HCLTech, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra—lost around 69,167 employees amidst uncertain demand. Notably, HCLTech was the only company among them to report a net increase in employees, adding approximately 1,537 staff during the year. According to a Moneycontrol report, TCS’s numbers fell by 13,249, Infosys’s by 25,994, and Wipro’s by 24,516, with Tech Mahindra also seeing a reduction of 6,945 employees. This marks the first time in at least five years that there has been an overall decline in employee numbers for the full year across these companies. #tcs #infosys #employees #technology #company #India #Indianstartupnews
