So often we focus on our physical health, but how many of us prioritise our social wellbeing? Social wellbeing refers to our ability to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with those around us. The average worker in the UK spends more time with their colleagues than anyone else in their lives, so this #WellbeingWednesday what can we do to improve our workplace wellbeing? Charity days: participating in local charity initiatives as a team can establish a sense of community and promote generosity. Societies: getting involved in workplace societies or interest groups provides opportunities for bonding beyond work tasks. Team lunch: regular team lunches or coffee breaks can help staff to unwind and connect on a personal level. Nights out: occasional team outings or social events can strengthen team camaraderie and morale. Buddy system: a buddy system, where colleagues support each other professionally and personally, fosters a culture of mutual care. Complaint procedure: establishing an open-door policy for addressing concerns ensures that everyone feels heard and valued. Worker wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do at MOHS. Really proud that WEALTH at work are part of the The Policy Liaison Group on Workplace Wellbeing (PLG) to tackle workplace wellbeing issues. PLG has been formed with the aim of tackling post-pandemic challenges which undermine work health and productivity. The forum brings together a number of groups; parliamentarians, industry stakeholders and charities to support effective government decisions and actions that will enhance wellbeing in the workplace for UK employees. The COVID pandemic, along with the recent cost of living crisis, as well as the ongoing mental health crisis seen around the UK, have seen record levels of people opting not to work. Consequently, this brings to light the demand for employers to take a more open and comprehensive approach to employee wellbeing. I'm sure you will have seen regular updates from Gethin Nadin about how the PLG will partake in regular roundtables in Westminster to facilitate direct dialogue between diverse stakeholders and government officials. My colleague Jonathan Watts-Lay comments, “Employee wellbeing is crucial if we are to ensure improved productivity in the workplace. My experience, based on many years of working with employers and their employees, to ensure improved financial resilience, reveals that many employees do not fully understand their finances and how to address financial difficulties, which can result in stress which is then often played out in the workplace. Highlighting these issues and what can be done about it, is crucial work.” #financialwellbeing #employeewellbeing

🤲 Supporting mental health has never been more important than it is right now. Polling commissioned by the TUC revealed that employees are reporting increased workplace intensity and more significant pressure at work, with 55% of workers feeling that work is getting more intense and demanding, and 61% of workers saying they feel exhausted at the end of most working days. [1] 😣 In addition, union health and safety representatives told the TUC that factors relating to work intensification are some of the most common workplace hazards they encounter, with 59% identifying stress as one of the most common hazards. [1] We are here to help by offering a unique and impactful way to support your workforce and bring Zen right to your workplace, particularly in light of Stress Awareness Month. 🤗 We build bespoke programmes to suit the needs of any organisation we partner with—you book the bus for a half or full day, we take a brief, design you a programme and then all your employees need to do is turn up and reap the benefits! Working with TZP also helps you support the wider community, as we fund our community work in part with any profit from the corporate work we do. We are open to offering sessions and support to your chosen charities and community organisations; it's all part of the service! 💼 Ready to bring Zen to your workspace? Reach out and book us for a visit! #WorkplaceWellbeing #CorporateWellbeing #StressAwareness [1] TUC: Work Intensification, 2023

Volunteering and giving back to the community are values that have always been important to me. It's great to see that data now supports the benefits of connecting with community services. Unfortunately, many companies get caught up in their own worlds and forget about the positive impact they can have by supporting local organizations. Giving back isn't just good for the community; it's also good for our mental health. #volunteering #communityimpact #corporatesocialresponsibility

Just came across something that really got me thinking – 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫: 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. According to an article by Shannon VanRaes at Future of Good, while the corporate world spends billions on wellness initiatives, the real MVP for mental health? Giving back. 𝐖𝐡𝐲'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥? It's the simple act of volunteering that’s making waves in workplace wellbeing. It’s like finding that one piece in a jigsaw puzzle that makes everything else click. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦-𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘢: 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘴; 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦-𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳. It is another reminder that embedding volunteer opportunities into our partnerships isn’t just nice – it’s essential. It bridges personal fulfillment with professional growth, boosts team spirit, and reduces those turnover rates. 𝐒𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧? If volunteering is where the magic happens, let’s weave more of these opportunities into our partnerships. It doesn't have to be hard, but it does have to be planned out. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭-𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴. And because it's valuable for all of these reasons, remember, charities, you are the deliverer of that value and therefore should be compensated accordingly. #CorporateCharityPartnerships #Volunteering #EmployeeEngagement
Most workplace wellness programs a waste of money, says study. However, research shows volunteering is the exception and helps improve mental health. Insightful story by Future of Good reporter Shannon VanRaes. Why it matters: More employers, including those in the non-profit sector, are offering workplace wellness programming than ever before. However, new research suggests that volunteerism may be the only one offering a return on investment. Huge thank you to Marco Di Buono and team at Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities for supporting nuanced independent journalism on transformations and solutions shaping volunteerism and non-profit workforce. #volunteer #volunteering #wellness #wellbeing #wellnessatwork #futureofwork #nonprofits #nonprofitleadership #leadership #management #labourforce #mentalhealth https://lnkd.in/eRrE5-Cb

With emotional exhaustion, absenteeism, and reduced collaboration affecting teams, there are clear parallels with the challenges we're seeing in Australia. It's a reminder that supporting staff in our sector is vital, no matter the size of the organisation. 🤝 https://ow.ly/QS2l50TPnwH #burnoutprevention #staffwellbeing
