Nigerian House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas recognizes the importance of women's representation in politics. The commitment to reintroduce the bill for temporary special seats is a step towards a more inclusive democracy. However, rhetorical commitment must be matched by reality. It is a matter of urgency that Nigeria fully embraces gender equality and equity.
