At Momentum Energy we experience and appreciate the benefits of gender balance across our organisation and within our executive leadership team. I spent the day planning with my team today, and am so grateful for the productive challenge and constructive debate we are able to have as a group - I certainly don't take this for granted and work hard to foster a safe and courageous culture. Nonetheless, we still have work to do on progressing our people through their careers at an equal rate, having gender balance at all levels, and continuing to champion diversity, inclusion and equity across our industry more broadly. That's why it's so valuable to see the progress outlined in the 2024 Impact Report from Champions of Change Coalition that was released yesterday. It highlights long-term progress towards inclusive gender equality in workplaces—and the challenges still ahead. I’m really proud of the tangible work we have done at Momentum Energy to advance gender balance. Initiatives like our gender-neutral parental leave, Expect Respect program, flexible working and mentor walks are just some of the deliberate interventions we are taking, but the report provides another nudge and motivation to continue to prioritise and focus on these initiatives and more. It's important to position gender balance not only for gender equality but also see the organization with outlook of both sides as a progressive strategy
Thank you for your leadership Lisa Chiba and congratulations to Momentum Energy for taking action to accelerate gender equality in 2024. Yes, there is still work to do - we look forward to seeing the Champions of Change Energy Group continue to make progress in 2025 💪
Congratulations on everything achieved so far Lisa Chiba and Olivia Hudson and the Momentum Energy team! Looking forward to continuing to support you to progress your equality and inclusion goals.
I’m a big supporter of gender balance, not only for the obvious outcome of getting more talented people into the workforce, but also the baseline it sets within a business to continue to focus on how we can set the best environment for our team to thrive (which invariably means we get the best out of them!) Great work Lisa Chiba and team…

2wI really don't see why gender balance is so important. I think it's more important to employ the best candidate for the job. Equal opportunity doesn't mean equal outcome.
