According to botanical classification, bananas meet the criteria of a berry because they develop from a single flower and have seeds inside. On the flip side, strawberries come from multiple ovaries, making them an aggregate fruit. Nature loves to keep us on our toes! 😄 What other fun facts have you heard about fruits? Raspberries aren't berries in the botanical sense. They are derived from a single flower with more than one ovary, making them an aggregate fruit. True berries are simple fruits stemming from one flower with one ovary and typically have several seeds and bananas fall into this classification. Phylloxera is an aphid-like insect. Native to North America, it was carried across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe where it was first identified in 1863. . The grapevine species used to produce the vast majority of wines around the world belong to the Vitis Vinifera and this species has no defences against this pest. . On the other hand, American vine species evolved and adapted to live with this pest and vver time have developed resilient defence mechanisms to prevent the insect from causing extensive damage. . It was found that grafting a Vitis Vinifera vine onto an American vine rootstock gave resistance to phylloxera while still retaining the desirable flavours of the Vitis Vinifera grape variety. (American vine species are notorious to give a "foxy" like aroma to wine) . Rootstocks are now commonly used throughout the world to combat Phylloxera. . . #sommninja #winestudent #asisomms #courtofmastersommeliers #sommeliere #sommelierlife #sommelierlifestyle #sommeliers #wineeducation #advancedsommelier #wineenthusiast #wineenthusiastlife #winestudy #winestudies

Happy we have 13 attendees so far. We will cut off at 40 attendees so people get the most out of the day. CIRCULAR DISTILLATION Next year we will be on the road with Level 1 & Level 2 of distillation. Focussing on Chemotypic plant selection to meet your market, nursery growing, site selection, planting out, monitoring oil fluctuations during the season so as to determine optimum time to harvest. Harvest techniques, post harvest prep and avenues from drying using solar powered driers, distillation of various oils, value adding to post distillation of your crop. Using waste streams of distillation in the form of biochar for the carbon cycle back to the soil. Also to harness the waste heat for the biochar process in lowering energy consumption in the distillation system. Circular Distillation 😀

3️⃣Welcome to Day 3 of our pinheading series. Prepared for you by Mushroom Agency UMDIS expert Iurie Boiciuc. As we observe in the video, the pins are growing larger. We’re seeing the emergence of smaller mushrooms which will form the next generation. It’s important that we continue to encourage the development of this new generation. 🌟 🔍 To support the growth of the third and fourth generations, we’ll be increasing evaporation once again. I plan to lower the temperature by half a degree and reduce humidity by 1%. This will help promote the development of our smaller mushrooms while ensuring that the mycelium remains healthy and vibrant. So far, everything is going according to plan, and the mycelium looks beautiful and white. 🌟In three days, we expect to begin our first harvest! Stay tuned for more updates on our mushroom cultivation journey! 👩🌾 Thanks to Mushroom Agency UMDIS consultant Iurie Boiciuc for recording this series. ✅Want guidance on setting the right pining/fruiting parameters. Here are some subtropical guavas ¹ ²: - *Lemon Guava*: a unique guava with a strong lemony taste, perfect for jams and jellies or eaten raw, with bumpy yellow skin and pink, tart flesh inside. - *Tropical White Guava*: hailing from Southern Mexico, widely grown in tropical zones across Asia and Africa, with bumpy yellow-green skin and creamy white fruit inside. Guavas are cultivated in many tropical and subtropical countries for their edible fruit. Several species are grown commercially, and some of them are fairly cold-hardy and can survive at temperatures as low as 5°C for short periods of time. They are of interest to home growers in temperate areas, being one of the very few tropical fruits that can be grown to fruiting size in pots indoors.
