Technology and Sustainability Leader | Top 50 Global Thought Leader | International Keynote Speaker @ Tom Raftery | Podcast host | Energy, Supply Chain, Climate, Marketing
It is Wednesday, so I'm excited to share my latest episode of the Climate Confident podcast where I had a fascinating conversation with Dr Denis Phares, the founder and CEO of Dragonfly Energy Corporation.
Denis and I delved into their groundbreaking dry electrode manufacturing process for lithium-ion batteries. This innovative method eliminates the need for toxic solvents, significantly reducing energy requirements, costs and environmental impact. We explored how this technology could revolutionise energy storage—making batteries more efficient and sustainable across various applications, from RVs and heavy-duty trucks to enhancing grid stability.
We also discussed the importance of Nevada's domestic lithium resources and how Dragonfly Energy is poised to build a robust, local supply chain. Denis shed light on the future of lithium recycling and its role in creating a sustainable, circular economy for battery materials.
One of the more fun moments was when Denis picked all four Beatles as his ideal celebrity spokespeople! We even ventured into discussions about futuristic concepts like flying cars and how close we might be to such advancements.
If you're keen to understand how cutting-edge battery technology is shaping the future of clean energy and combating climate change, this episode is a must-listen.

To durably remove #CO2 from the atmosphere, we must first capture it. 🫧
Some #carbonremoval providers focus on capture, others on storage – and while a focused approach has its merits, neustark holds all pieces of the value chain together: from source to sink to certificate.
To capture our #biogenic CO2, we work with biogas partners. Through a technical process called #biogas upgrading, CO2 gets separated from methane (CO2 makes up ~40-50% of the raw gas). 👨🔬
Usually, the CO2 is simply released back into the atmosphere. 💨 Now this is where neustark comes into play!
Our #technology, installed at the existing plant, captures the CO2 offgas directly at its source. Due to the upstream processes, it’s already vastly pure (~98%). We then liquefy it on site for efficient transport to our nearby #storage plants, where the CO2 is removed from the atmosphere! 🔒
Point source capture allows us to save time and energy vs. filtering CO2 out of the air (with a concentration of ~0,04%) and purifying it before #permanently storing it.
Et voilà, that’s how we create decisive #negativeemissions to reach our #netzero goals. 🌎🌱
