💪 My Voice, My Story: Why International Women Matters I came to this country with nothing but a dream and 💵 $173 in my pocket. As a Chilean-American woman, I've seen firsthand the challenges women face – especially those of us coming from different backgrounds. In sales, I learned that speaking up wasn't just important, it was essential. I had to prove myself twice as hard, but that grit and determination got me where I am today. International Women's Day isn't just about celebrating achievements (though there are plenty to celebrate!). It's a call to action. It's about amplifying the voices of all women, no matter their background or story. This year's theme, #InspireInclusion, resonates deeply. We need a world where every woman feels safe, respected, and empowered to use her voice. ❤️ 💙 💜 So, this IWD, let's join the conversation. Raise awareness, support female-focused causes, and most importantly, listen to the stories of the women around you. Because together, our voices can create a more inclusive and equal world. 💪 This International Women's Day, let's go beyond hashtags and make these celebrations a daily habit. After all, the world needs empowered women, 365 days a year.

International Women's day (IWD) is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. Since those early years, International Women's Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike. The growing international women's movement, which has been strengthened by four global United Nations women's conferences, has helped make the commemoration a rallying point to build support for women's rights and participation in the political and economic arenas. Facts about IWD Do you know that the fact that women's day is celebrated on March 8th is linked to the women's movement during the Russian Revolution? Do you also know that New Zealand was the first self governing country to allow women Franchise ( Right to vote)? Anyways, one of the most inspirational quotes for women's day is.... Women are the real architects of the society and that's for sure. All in all, the place of a woman in the society cannot be overemphasized. I hereby celebrate every woman out there.... You're strong, fearless, vibrant and indeed Legends. Keep making it Real. ## International Women's Day## ## Women's Day 2024##

‘Breaking the Bias’ It was my privilege to give a speech at International Women’s day to shed light on a crucial topic - 'Breaking the Bias'. As I prepared for this speech, I embarked on a journey to understand the perspectives of a diverse group of women and men. What unfolded before me was a stark realization that resonated deeply within my core. Through my conversations with women from varied walks of life, I stumbled upon a disheartening trend that cannot be overlooked any longer. I discovered that a significant number of women identified themselves solely as 'the wives of Mr so-and-so’. These remarkable individuals, who had once been accomplished professionals, vibrant members of their communities, and custodians of unique talents, had willingly ventured into uncharted territories to support their husbands' careers. And yet, despite their incredible sacrifices, steadfast dedication, and unwavering support, these women found themselves relegated to the sidelines of recognition and acknowledgment. They were stripped of their identities, reduced to mere appendages of their spouses - the Wife of Mr. X or the Mom of Child B. This systematic bias against women, is a grave injustice that cannot be ignored any longer. We diligently instill in our children the values of self-love, compassion for others, and the courage to pursue their dreams. But in our pursuit of nurturing the next generation, have we forgotten to impart the crucial lesson of breaking the bias that shackles women to a life of sacrifice for their husbands' careers? These women, who once gleamed with ambition, radiated with passion, and brimmed with potential, are now shadows of their former selves, their aspirations buried beneath the weight of societal expectations and gender norms. It is imperative that we collectively challenge this biased narrative, shatter the glass ceiling that inhibits these women from reclaiming their identities, and provide them with the recognition and appreciation they so rightfully deserve. As we commemorate International Women's Day, let us pledge to dismantle the antiquated beliefs that confine women to roles of selflessness and sacrifice. Let us empower these women to rediscover their worth, reignite their dreams, and reclaim their individuality. It is only through our collective efforts, unwavering support, and unyielding advocacy that we can truly 'Break the Bias' and create a more equitable and inclusive world for all women.

📢 Beyond Parity: Economic Empowerment and Inclusive Representation of Women in Decision-Making Systems 🌍 Check out the latest blog post co-authored with the World Trade Institute (WTI), focusing on the crucial role of economic empowerment and gender parity in decision-making systems! 📊 As highlighted at the February 2023 Conference, hosted by WTI, GQUAL, and the Institute of International Relations, Prague , experts discussed the forthcoming CEDAW General Recommendation 40, which emphasizes the importance of promoting equal and inclusive representation of women across international decision-making spaces. From addressing barriers in international economic systems to recognizing the intersectionality of challenges faced by women, the conversation stressed how critical women's participation is to achieving sustainable development, peace, and equality. 💡 Key takeaways: - Economic empowerment of women must be central to international governance. - Inclusive representation means going beyond just participation — it requires gender parity and diversity. - The CEDAW GR40 offers concrete steps to guide states in achieving these goals. 🔗 Read the full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/e3WFDpRX A big thanks to Elisa Fornalé for partnering with us for this event, and to Nicole Ameline for her leadership and vision for CEDAW’s GR 40.

Today marks a significant occasion, a day etched in history as International Women's Day. It's a day to celebrate the unwavering spirit of women who have fought tirelessly to claim their rightful place in society. This day reminds us of their courageous acts in shattering glass ceilings and breaking down barriers to claim their rightful place in every aspect of life. From boardrooms to classrooms, buses to cafes, and parliaments to operas, women are no longer confined by outdated notions of their capabilities. Historically, women have faced immense societal pressure and prejudice, often being perceived as less capable than their male counterparts. However, March 8th serves as a powerful reminder of the immense power women possess and the global impact their unity can achieve. I am incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such remarkable women who have empowered and inspired me throughout my journey. I express my deepest gratitude to the women who continue to pave the way. While we've come a long way, it's crucial to acknowledge that the journey towards complete equality is far from over. There's still significant room for improvement in ensuring women's rights are universally respected and protected. However, the progress made so far is undeniable, with women increasingly outpacing men in educational institutions and various professional sectors. Let us embrace the spirit of International Women's Day and strive for a future where women are not just included but truly thrive in all aspects of life. May their health, rights, and voices remain priorities for everyone, every single day. #internationalwomensday #internationalwomensday2024

As we wake today, under the burgeoning light of change and solidarity, we pause to celebrate a vital heartbeat in the chorus of our history. International Women's Day shines as a beacon of collective triumph, yet also casts a shadow that reminds us of the challenges persistently faced. We've come far in the quest for equality, with doors flung open by the indomitable spirit of those who dared to challenge the status quo. From suffragettes to the shapers of our digital age, women have not merely etched their presence in the annals of time; they have carved entire chapters. But remember, evolution is a never-ending toil. As we honour today's heroines, let's commit to fostering an environment where every girl has access to education, where every woman can work free from disparity and where leadership gleams not with the echoes of privilege, but the diverse tones of meritocratic fairness. Let us amplify voices, not just today but every day, to shape a world paved with the vibrant contributions of women in every corner of society. May we embrace diversity, equity, and inclusivity as more than just ideals but the very fabric of our daily existence. This International Women's Day, my ask is simple. Reflect on the strides we've already walked, and prepare for the ones that still lie ahead. For when we elevate women, we elevate humanity. #InternationalWomensDay #BalanceForBetter #EqualityForAll

Last week, like every year on March 8th, the world celebrated Women. I must admit I was rather indifferent to this celebration, but I recognise the importance of every action aimed at improving women's rights. I was disheartened to observe that International Women's Day has evolved into an opportunity for some companies and individuals to merely communicate ideas without implementing tangible actions, thereby focusing more on enhancing their public image rather than effecting real change. It's easy to post positive messages on that day, but how many will translate into concrete actions for change? Many seem content with superficial gestures, acting as one-day communicators to absolve themselves or ease their conscience. Through my experience, I have frequently observed campaigns launched and repeated year after year without questioning, without even asking why. Communication is an essential tool for promoting progress, but it alone is not sufficient. It is imperative that the question of why evolves over the years, through concrete actions, to find an appropriate answer. True celebration of International Women's Day requires enduring commitment, an effort to educate ourselves about women's conditions worldwide and in our own societies and businesses. It's crucial to engage in discussions with women in our circles to understand their realities and challenges. International Women's Day is not just a communication campaign but a genuine commitment to change. While I am optimistic about progress, I remain aware that we still have a long way to go. A big thank you to all those who genuinely care. And to the opportunists of the moment, know that we're not fooled, we see you! My competitive spirit urges me to reserve celebrations for days of victory. #internationalwomensday #IWD
