I found this pretty interesting. I will call out one included on the "worst trends" list. Especially if you're a nonprofit organization, use original photos! 05. Heavy stock photo usage We’ve all seen those pics of executives smiling around a laptop, or a woman laughing alone with salad. They had their moment, but by now, they’re overused; there really is no excuse. Relying too much on stock photos can make a site feel inauthentic, and unprofessional. Users appreciate original, high-quality images that reflect a brand's unique identity. Authentic photos look great and build trust. The solution: Use stock photos sparingly and choose ones that align well with your brand's voice and message. Whenever possible, invest in custom photography.

For designers, creating a moodboard sucks. Kosmik makes it a quick 3-step process: 1. Open the web 2. Find a cool image 3. Drag it onto the canvas Repeat and, voila, your moodboard is ready. Keep it private or share it with others. Work on it alone or invite collaborators. The choice is yours. (It's so quick that this video was only 2 seconds long and LinkedIn wouldn't let me upload a video less than 75 KB so I had to convert it to a gif)

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫? 🎨🤔 Well, that’s like asking if a fish can live without water or if a designer can survive without coffee! ☕😂 Freepik is my treasure chest of creative goodies – from those perfect illustrations that make my designs pop to the backgrounds that save me during last-minute deadlines. 🕒💥 And let’s be real – who hasn’t fallen down the Freepik rabbit hole? 🕳️🐇 -->> One minute, you’re searching for a simple arrow, and the next, you’re contemplating a whole new color palette and downloading a pack of high-quality mockups and abstract unicorn vectors (you know, just in case)! 🤷🏼♂️ -->> But hey, isn't that what makes our work so fun? The endless possibilities, the unexpected discoveries, and the occasional "How did I end up here?" moments. 😂 Can I live without it? Maybe. But do I want to? Nah, I'm good. 😂 What about you? Any design tool or websites you just can’t imagine life without? New designs, new website, new look! How did I do? Finally got around to redoing my portfolio 💼 which I’m sure many have been doing or are in the process of this most gregious process for us designers. I can tell you many imposter syndromed filled, tireless and often eye aching nights trying to get this portfolio done but I made through the other side. Not entirely unscathed 😂 For this portfolio I ended up trying Framer with Figma which ended giving a crisp and awesome result. As a designer I love designing web development, not so much. If your a designer like myself I’d recommend the Figma to Framer plug-in! I now defer to you! My fellow designers, colleagues, friends, mentors and teachers. I’d love to hear your critiques, suggestions, thoughts or maybe even your favourite project of mine. On the off chance you know someone hiring, pass it on! Stay creative everyone ✏️ 🖼️ https://cajdesign.ca #designers #graphicdesigners #portfolio #portfolioreview #studios #creative #montreal #opentowork
