Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking at #CyberTechEurope2024 in the Top Tech Talks Session. During the session, which was moderated by Filippo Cerocchi, Ph.D. and featured three other outstanding speakers Umberto Rosini Cristian Fontana Tamirat Abegaz, we had the opportunity to discuss how new and emerging technologies are shaping our lives and society as a whole. We specifically discussed the impact of emerging technologies such as AI and the cloud-edge continuum on: Modern distributed systems and infrastructures, such as the one at Polo Strategico Nazionale in Italy. Assessment and certification of distributed systems and infrastructures. AI robustness. Data management in high-risk domains, such as those considered by the Civil Protection Department in Italy. Great opportunities lie ahead of us, but much work remains to be done. Research centers, universities, and industry must collaborate to guide the ongoing technological (r)evolution, which shows no signs of slowing down, for the common good.
