🎂 Happy 6th birthday to assemble! 🎂
Six years ago on the Tuesday after Labor Day, I set up a bank account so I could take my first client. Here's what I'd tell baby Alix 6 years ago:
🤝 Your relationships are not the pipeline: Relationships are important for a million reasons but lots of people who support you does not mean it will convert to business after the newness of launching wears off. Get smart about a real pipeline now.
👓 Find your weak spots: My own lack of confidence in math, finance, and tax has held me and my business back. Look at what you aren't good at square in the face and figure it out or hire people to figure it out. Don't procrastinate because it's hard.
🔮 It all matters: It's easy to decide some things don't matter. It's harder to decide how MUCH something matters. Every email, every slide, every conversation matters; you must decide how to right size your effort to its relative importance. Sidenote, sometimes the seemingly small stuff matters more than the big stuff.
Today starts the clock on the next 6 year plan (6 is my lucky number) which features supporting other small business with smart contracting, building products that deliver patient insights to clients in hours not weeks, and investing in the people around me like early clients, friends, and contractors invested in me. And, more vacation. 🌴
I help my clients to hire and develop diverse high performing leadership teams
1wGreat night with everyone 🎉
