Such a good community you’re founding!! Reminded me how I love small, young, diverse, and educated communities, where our starting point is being driven genuinely toward our ideals, and the need (which I heard from a lot of our failures) is actually to be more pragmatic and grounded in reality and history . It’s really special in our world to have everyone care deeply about their life’s work, and, importantly, grieve deeply when we fail. #AllRoadsLeadToB2BSaaS
It’s not often you get to a see a bunch of failed entrepreneurs in a room, talking about how they failed - much less Asians. This week, I had the chance to moderate a panel with Asian Founders Club and Starcycle, where we cut through the typical success stories to focus on the tougher, overlooked moments our panelists Jaclyn Siu, Akshaya D., and Jason Patel faced - things like losing an investment, choosing the wrong market, and having to tell your team you’re shutting down. In a world where success stories are typically only things that get highlighted, this panel on failure was so refreshing. It’s a reminder that failure can be just as important to learn from as success, and that you’re never alone in the journey. Huge thank you to our panelists for their vulnerability, Welcome To Chinatown for the space, and MìLà and Jumo for providing our guests with delicious refreshments! #nyc #founders #failure #entrepreneurship #asian
