My Salesforce Journey 🚀 Since joining Salesforce in April 2024 as a Business Development Representative for the Danish market, my journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I could not have been happier about my decision to become a part of the Ohana. 💡 Highlights In this role, I’ve achieved significant milestones, and I feel a true sense of accomplishment from helping clients succeed. Every day brings a new challenge and an opportunity to grow. As a BDR, I'm constantly developing my skills—whether it’s through strategic planning, deepening client engagement, or working closely with an inspiring team that shares my drive for success. 🚀 Salesforce - The 3 Month Mark 🚀 I have a deep passion for high performance. One of the guiding principles I live by is the 1% rule, which is all about striving to be 1% better each day. My belief is that by extracting 1% of value from every conversation, meeting, and training session, I am continuously improving not only as a business professional but also as a person. This principle has served as my compass, and it’s proving to be incredibly powerful in my journey with Salesforce. Joining Salesforce and working in the Health and Life Sciences sector has been a transformative experience. These first three months have been some of the most enlightening and challenging times of my life. I've been pushed to new heights and faced moments of imposter syndrome, yet each day I wake up excited and energized to connect with customers and explore 'the art of the possible' together. The journey has not been without its difficulties, but the support and culture at Salesforce have made all the difference. The emphasis here is not on demanding perfection but on insisting on continuous improvement, which resonates deeply with my personal philosophy. Every interaction and every project has been a stepping stone towards a higher level of performance and understanding. It’s about incremental gains that compound over time, leading to significant growth and development. This mindset is helping me evolve in ways I never imagined. It was my honor yesterday to be a Speaker at the New Hire Onboarding event at Salesforce where I got to share my experience as a Salesforce employee and offer some tips for how to thrive at Salesforce. What a great time at the Salesforce Tower - Atlanta (also reuniting with a colleague Niraj Sharma , with whom I did my own onboarding just a few short months ago in October of 2023 in Chicago) 😇 Welcoming my new colleagues at Mothership was a privilege for me as I remember with gratitude how many #Salesforce employees welcomed ME wholeheartedly when I joined the Mothership last year. Freely receive - freely GIVE 😇 The purpose of my life is to encourage and empower people, and I got to do exactly what aligns with my life’s purpose. What a blessing… Salesforce is a special place. Humans here are treated as humans. If an employee experiences adversity, faces deeply sorrowful circumstances, and needs time to process grief… Salesforce allows its employees time and space to deal with human suffering. Yesterday, when I got home from this event, I discovered that a violent war began in the city of Kursk, Russia where I was born and raised. Yesterday, I talked about humility. I shared with our new hires about being a real human at work, that’s our advantage, that’s what makes Salesforce special. Today, as I dealt with my deep sorrow and grief from the violent war, I needed a #MentalHealth day to … accept the unacceptable as I cry my eyes out…. I am grateful for mental health days. He told me this 🔥🔥🔥 Lately, I have been thinking of how Salesforce Consultants think and one way to learn and understand other people's journey is to converse with them. You know- “Ask and you Shall receive” thing and so I did 😆 I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Busi, CEO and Founder of ShadowRock, and what stood out to me was how friendly and open our conversation was. He’s someone who generously shares his life experiences to inspire and uplift others. Indeed it was a privilege 😊😊😊 Here’s what I picked from our conversation 👇 👇 📌 Problem-Solving Skills & Adaptability in Consulting Matt shared that problem-solving in consulting isn’t about knowing everything right away. Instead, it’s about finding solutions as you go—using resources, your community, and the ability to stay adaptable. He reminded me that being adaptable has been key to his success, helping him stay relevant and self-reliant. 📌Leveraging Past Experiences for Decision-Making Matt asked about my career before Salesforce, and I shared that I’ve spent almost 10 years in healthcare. He pointed out how this gives me a unique advantage. In Salesforce terms, patients are like customers, and working with doctors or managers is similar to managing key stakeholders in a company. Matt emphasized that every experience can be useful. It’s all about finding ways to apply what you’ve learned to the role or company you're aiming for! 📌Overcoming Challenges He compared challenges to being handed a long rope and asked to tie a knot. It’s not about trying to create one big, perfect knot right away that can take a lot of time and effort. Instead, he suggested tying smaller, manageable knots along the way. By doing this, you make steady progress and can adapt as needed, rather than being overwhelmed by the size of the challenge. Finally, he told me that starting his own consulting business was one of the best decisions he’s ever made it’s pushed him to grow in ways he never expected. His advice? Five years back, when I joined Salesforce, I had a mixed feeling about my decision. Having worked in smaller companies most of my life on senior roles, my natural progression was towards a C-Level role in a small to mid sized company. But I felt that I was missing exposure to two things, how to innovate at breakneck velocity and how to scale profitably. And more then anything, the connection between work and my interest to give back to the community was at best unsatisfactory, so I decided to give Salesforce a shot. Five year in Salesforce, it feels like the best decision I could have made. Five years of adventure, moving to completely different areas of work, starting from Advanced Technology Innovation to Application Security, five years of working closely with some of the best leaders in the industry and five years of building deep friendship with amazing professionals, all the time feeling proud and humbled with how all our work feeds into the 1-1-1 model directly helping our communities. It is hard to mention every support and mentor in a short note, I will try to mention a few names. Chandransu Choudhury, Rajesh Misquita, Evan Davis, Brett Colbert, Amar Aujla and Sanjay S. for your deep guidance. Faye Olson, Andy White, Ashleigh McCord, Lance French and Ram Balasubramanian for providing opportunities and mentorship, Juan Perez for enabling and supporting me to continuously raise the bar, Jo-ann dePass Olsovsky for mentorship and support on innovation Sebastian Lange for amazing partnership on all things security and Nghia (Doc) Tran for leadership on bleeding edge innovation. These five years have been deeply fulfilling in all aspects. Working at Salesforce transforms you as a human being, while most of us do complain about continuous reorganizations and change in direction, the ability to define your work and goals, the amazing people you engage with everyday and the solid outcomes that make Salesforce a market leader in business and philanthropy, make this company the best company to work for on the planet! #SalesforceAnniversary
