A story that illustrates this beautifully is that of Wahb ibn Kaysan and his feeble camel. While traveling, the Prophet noticed Wahb struggling with an old, weak camel. Instead of ignoring the young man’s plight, the Prophet intervened with his characteristic warmth and humility. Playfully haggling with Wahb over the camel, he not only lightened the moment but also learned more about him. Discovering that Wahb was the son of a martyr who had fallen in the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet acknowledged his lineage with affection, calling him ‘son of my brother.’ In the end, the Prophet gave Wahb a generous gift, reflecting the noble qualities of an Arab chief combined with his unique touch of kindness and humor. This act embodies servant leadership: noticing the needs of others, engaging with empathy, and elevating their dignity. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Make things easy and do not make them difficult, cheer the people up by conveying glad tidings to them and do not repulse (them)." (Sahih al-Bukhari 69, Sahih Muslim 1734) From this hadith, we can learn several important lessons for leaders: 1.
