With the election just a few months away, we can look at technical market analysis to give us clues on what we could expect for this presidential cycle: - The strongest period of the cycle is from the middle of the election year to the middle of the post-election year with small caps and value outperforming. - The weakest period has been from the middle of the post-election year to the end of the mid-term year. - On average, the first half of election years are weak and the second half strong with the timing of the election rally varying greatly and often dependent upon when the winner is widely accepted. And the Winner is… With the US election approaching, anticipation is high. Predicting the next president from polls and statistics is a challenge, as the race remains tight. But there’s another intriguing statistic: in election years, CTA industry returns in Q4 have historically outshined those of non-election years. In fact, over the last 36 years, 5 of the top 6 Q4 results occurred during election years. If this pattern holds, the CTA industry could be in for a strong year-end.

"Quarter 4 of 2024 is almost here – can you believe it? As we gear up for 2025 renewal season during another contentious presidential election, it almost seems too good to be true that for the first time in over a decade there is a minimal list of new regulations. The focus for 2025 will be on continuing to comply with rules issued in prior years in which details are still being ironed out (or for which there are proposed changes)." https://lnkd.in/g27ncSYE

Insigthful (and scary) first analysis of the impact of the US elections on various policy and legislations by DGA Group - on Tech and AI: "Repeal Net Neutrality (with GOP FCC majority); Replace Biden EO 14110 with AI policies prioritizing free speech; Advocate for protectionist AI policies and reduce barriers via industry-led evaluations" - on foreign affairs "Likely withdraw from international institutions to focus on bilateral deals and quid pro quo relations; Expect to cut U.S. funding for Ukraine and push for peace deal; Pressure NATO countries to increase military spending and reinstate "maximum pressure" sanctions campaign on Iran" - on social affairs "Defund diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and increase restrictions on gender-affirming care; Push for accreditation reforms to promote innovation; Explore privatization of federal student loans and dismantling the Department of Education" (...) thanks Marzena Rembowski 😊
