Here's what you need to know about the impact on your mortgage application. Communication defaults are placed on credit files by mobile telephone companies. Unlike other types of defaults, communication defaults are typically added to credit records within a much shorter timeframe. A payment can be missed for a number of reasons, perhaps changing bank accounts or being paid later than expected. But the good news is that many lenders believe that a communication default doesn't necessarily mean an applicant isn't credit-worthy for a mortgage and so may not factor communication defaults into their lending decision. The short answer is no, you don’t need to make repayments on Later Life Lending. Usually, the interest is paid when the borrower dies, and the loan is paid in full. Lenders don’t specify that borrowers need to make regular repayments, but you have the option to pay if you choose to. Kelly Flanagan is our Senior Mortgage and Protection Specialist. Lenders will all have a look at your credit history and based on what's on the credit report, they will decide whether they can lend or not.
