🚶♂️ Thrilled to have presented on the topic of "Recent Advances in Marker-less Gait Analysis in the Medical Field" at the 3rd International Conference of Movement Analysis (ICOMA 2024) this past May 15th! 🔍 In my presentation, I explored the critical need for integrating marker-less gait recognition technologies in healthcare. The use of such systems in clinical settings poses unique challenges, especially when compared to security applications. 👣 We discussed the limitations of current technologies, compared to IMU and marker-based systems, and reviewed recent advancements that are pushing the boundaries of what's possible. It's an exciting time as we look towards developing more robust systems that can operate effectively in scenarios where traditional methods fall short, such as with infants or in remote rehabilitation tracking. 🌍 The future is promising, and I am eager to contribute to this field, aiming to overcome current limitations and expand the possibilities for patient care and monitoring. 💡 I'd love to connect with fellow professionals who are interested in the potential of these technologies. The central question of the #Euroson #POCUS #SCHOOL Vienna 2024, 5th Edition: - What should and must a #FrontlinePhysician be able to do to carry out basic medicine with #ultrasound? * Essentially, it is about being able to decide with greater accuracy in acute situations with the support of emergency sonography in particular (“triage tool” emergency sonography) whether a patient can continue to be treated at home or whether further acute diagnostics and treatment within the hospital are necessary. In addition, the use of emergency sonography can improve and accelerate the correct diagnosis of very central symptoms. This saves other diagnostic examinations and leads to an earlier start of adequate therapy. * When we have advanced and relatively cheap ultrasound devices, and high-performance technology with artificial intelligence or some smart software using updated diagnostic algorithms, it's time to complete the classic clinical examination (by history, inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation) with the new clinical-ultrasound examination that currently allows us to visualize through ultrasound most organs and tissues of the human body(US-inspection), along with electronic ultrasound palpation through ultrasonographic elastography method(US-palpation), but also with the electronic auscultation through the Doppler Triplex technique(US-auscultation) to increase the diagnostic accuracy in primary and outpatient healthcare. Taking the time to once again shed a light on someone in our team making a real impact for patients all around Denmark. 👏 We recently upgraded a SOMATOM FORCE scanner at AUH with the latest VB30 software, and it’s already bringing noticeable improvements for both patients and healthcare professionals. This upgrade means: - New anatomical areas for FAST planning, allowing us to fine-tune protocols with even greater accuracy for specific organs. - Greater efficiency: Hospital staff can now work faster and more precisely, which means patients get answers sooner and spend less time in the scanner. With an install base such as ours, what can seem as a small adjustment can have a large impact. Our equipment is reaching well beyond a million touch points just in Denmark on a yearly basis, and if we can participate in improving the imaging diagnosis to be just slightly bit more accurate, more lives will not only be improved but also saved at the end of the day. A heartfelt thank you to Hanne Schou, whose commitment has been pivotal in rolling out this technology at AUH. Her hands-on approach and dedication to improving patient care make a real impact every day. Hanne embodies what it means to be a quiet innovator, pushing the boundaries of healthcare.
