“Arise, awake how long will doth in slumber lie”. This wake-up call to live a richer, a nobler, a holier life is the message of our Founder, Rev Sadhu Vaswani. Popularity, power, position, wealth and pleasures were not a priority to Sadhu Vaswani. Selfless service to mankind and deep longing and devotion to God mirrored his throbbing spirituality. He urged us to wake up to our “divine destiny”, for He believed the ultimate goal of life is to attune oneself to the divinity inherent within each one of us. “Inner illumination” is what we must seek every day, but to do this, “man need not run away from the world to the solitude of a mountain cave or forest grove. He must live in the world and fulfil his duties and obligations”, He taught. Reverence for all life was the cornerstone of his teachings. This practically translated into love and service for all forms of life – embracing humans, birds and animals alike. He started the Sadhu Vaswani Mission in the year 1929. A poet, a seer, a mystic, an educationist, a lyricist, an author and visionary, He offered simple solutions to the maladies that afflict modern-day man. His teachings continue to shape the lives of many around the world. Authored by Renu Wadhwa Leading to the Birth Anniversary of Rev. Sadhu Vaswani (Nov 25th), it gives me great joy to share some of his teachings over the next three posts. I hope they leave a deep imprint, I would love to hear your views. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞!!! Am I talking about your bf/gf who has left you??? - This discussion is out of scope😅 Am I talking about the time that has already gone??? - I can't even talk about this impossible thing! So, what exactly is the thing that I am talking about??? - 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐀 𝐂𝐘𝐂𝐋𝐄 The example of 'boomerang' will be perfect for this, just throw it in any direction or with any speed, yet it will definitely come back to the person who initiated it. Mixing the logic by Physics behind this with spirituality and then finding a logic to think upon gives a next level satisfaction, right? :) Similar is the concept of 'Karma Cycle'. 1) We have all, at some point, knowingly or unknowingly, caused harm to others, often prioritizing our own desires and not caring for others. 2) Sometimes, we sacrificed our own well-being to soothe others without considering the consequences. 3) Yes, we did good for others as well, either with the intention to do good or unintentionally by ignoring ourselves. 4) And how we can forget that we did good to ourselves too, which in one aspect, can be just another way to say point 1). ⏳ We have done countless things in our lives. These actions are complex to understand, analyze, and interpret. ⏳ One day, we will definitely understand and enjoy the 'sweetness' of our good deeds; we will definitely get the 'fruit' of everything good we have done for others. DON'T WORRY! ⏳ And also, one day we all are bound to face the consequences of our every karma that harmed others more than it gave pleasure to us. DON'T WORRY! Just keep going, never expect anything and stick with your values, beliefs and principles! :) The divine power will always be there for you! Jai Shri Krishna 🙏🏻 #karmacycle #spirituality #selfimprovement

The Talmudic Sage, Rabbi Tarfon used to say, “You are not obligated to complete the task, but neither are you free to desist from it.” While what he was referring to was doing one’s part in "Tikkun Olam" (repairing the world), the same could apply to any individual major dream, goal, or undertaking. Of course, he was not saying that you are not “legally" free from it; only that if you truly believe in it, then quitting is not an option if you want to feel good about yourself; to have a sense of happiness and satisfaction from acting congruently with your values. Indeed, the result is actually secondary. To put his advice into a more modern context we might say… …Do the work you are called to do whether or not it is completed within your lifetime. A key to this is that while you might put your heart, soul, time, sweat, and energy into doing this in order to see it through to its fruition, you also do so without “attachment to the results.” In other words, you’re doing it because you believe in it and because you are committed to it, not because your sense of happiness is dependent upon seeing it completed. Because while your actions are totally within your control, the result is not. As we learn from many ancient religious and philosophical traditions, we can only control what is in our power to control, and when we are attached to controlling what we cannot control, that is when misery sets in. Those “ancients” made a lot of “modern sense", didn’t they? Question: What major goal do you have — one that might take a lifetime to accomplish…or might never be fully accomplished — in which the advice of the above Sages and Traditions apply? #Talmud #RabbiTarfon #BobBurg #Success #TheGoGiver
