Mercedes AMG PureSpeed The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is a 196-MPH SL63 Without a Windshield, it will be limited to just 250 units and its windshield has been replaced with a steel pillar that emulates the halo device used by F1 cars since 2018. 577-horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 from the SL63. PureSpeed will rip from zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 196 mph, which frankly sounds terrifying without the protection of a windshield. Shifting duties are handled by a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the 590 pound-feet of torque is sent to all four wheels. There's still no word on the price, but we expect the PureSpeed to start at least at $300,000, considering that the SL63 costs $188,300 and the upcoming SL63 S E Performance hybrid model should hit the $200K mark.
