What’s really going on with F1’s active aero plans? Under the new 2026 technical regulations, Formula 1 teams are looking to use active aerodynamics to make up for the downforce lost when behind another car. Testing this with simulations, Formula 1 confirmed that active aero will require both front and rear wing adjustments to achieve optimum aerodynamic balance. With Chell’s involvement in wind tunnel testing of aerodynamics, we will be keeping a close eye on how these plans develop! Read more: https://lnkd.in/dEP4HXB7 #F1 #ActiveAerodynamics #Engineering

Cars don't race on their own. We all know it, but how much time is spent in the wind tunnel, or CFD with a car on it's own, in clean air conditions? There's lots to learn and understand from studies like this, and it helped Supercars understand the behaviour of the cars in traffic and for overtaking / drafting.
🏎️ Driving Fair Play in the Supercars Championship When the Supercars Championship needed a solution to maintain technical parity and keep racing exciting, we stepped up with cutting-edge aerodynamic analysis and on-track innovation. Using advanced CFD simulations, we analysed every aspect of vehicle setup, predicting performance before the cars hit the track. This accuracy allowed us to reduce the Vehicle Control Aerodynamic Testing (VCAT) process significantly saving time and costs for all teams. We also introduced our very first D2H in-house developed active ride-height control system, ensuring absolute uniformity during testing. Combined with on-track data capture coupled with an in-house developed aero data analysis tool ensuring transparency across teams, our process eliminated undue advantages and ensured the competition stayed fair. The result? A level playing field, more thrilling races, and a better experience for teams, drivers, and fans alike. 📉 Reduced testing from 10 days to just 3 ⚙️ Advanced CFD simulations + on-track validation 🎉 Closer, more unpredictable racing Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eQySiG9C #ActiveRideHeightSystem #CFD #InnovationInRacing #Aerodynamics #MotorsportEngineering
