The re-appointment of Mr. Faheem Haider as CEO of MPCL for another three years amidst Pakistan's severe energy crisis appears to be a continuation of status quo rather than a step towards addressing the pressing needs of Pakistani citizens. While Mr. Haider may possess the requisite qualifications for the CEO role, the decision holds little significance for ordinary Pakistanis who are grappling with skyrocketing electricity prices, gas shortages, and high inflation. The energy sector in Pakistan, including oil & gas, electricity, and coal, is plagued by corruption, poor governance, and flawed policies that have failed to provide relief to the populace. The lack of cooperation and communication among energy sectors, coupled with a deficit in vision and strategic planning, has exacerbated the country's energy woes. This has resulted in frequent power outages, dwindling gas production, and a staggering import bill, placing immense strain on the national economy and the livelihoods of Pakistani citizens. Rather than perpetuating the current ineffective leadership, Pakistan urgently needs innovative and reform-minded individuals at the helm who can enact meaningful change and steer the energy sector towards sustainable solutions that prioritize affordability, reliability, and national development. #PakistanEnergyCrisis #IneffectiveLeadership #HighElectricityPrices #GasShortages #CorruptionInEnergySector #NeedForReform

The Federal Government has introduced a bill to prevent the future sale of the NBN. While I support the idea of keeping the NBN in public hands, history suggests a different outcome. The process to contemplate a sale includes a Productivity Commission inquiry, a joint committee review, and ministerial approval, but the allure of short-term gains may override these hurdles. Let's hope for future governments with long-term vision. #NBN #Government #FuturePlanning
