Dr. Syed Naimathulla is an Environment Consultant (freelance) and has a vast experience of more than 30 years in the field of Environment Protection and Control. He started his career as lecturer in chemical engineering department at REC (now NIT) Warangal. After about 10 years he shifted to JNEC Aurangabad as Professor and HOD of Chemical Engineering. Department. In search of greener pastures he chose deserts and shifted to Gulf countries. He worked in companies like Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, Qatar Petroleum and jubail Royal Commission. His main contribution in these industries is related to environment protection and sustainable development. His areas of interest are soil, water, air quality, and waste management (both hazardous and non-hazardous). We got an opportunity to interact with him on the occasion of International Earth Day. During our conversation, he shed light on Sustainable Development and ESD Goals. Here is the full article- He started "Let us be positive and enjoy this year's Mother Earth Day by creating more and better awareness among people through government and private agencies on the importance of protecting our Mother Earth. We need to look forward and get into action as there is still much to be done in terms of technology, money and of course time." Further he added, "the Sustainable development goals is the watchword and key to Mother Earth protection. The ESD goals are the initiatives through which we can get into action and show tangible results." He concluded by expressing; "Sometimes the achievements recorded need to be assessed carefully to ensure that in our anxiety to protect Mother Earth we are not causing it harm. This is not a cause of concern as there are many watchdog organizations who keep track on the initiatives. taken by organizations and people."
