The secret to making your event a success is in the mindset you take into it. Yesterday our CINCH group of all different abilities and ages successfully won their respective rides at SBT GRVL. In CINCH we have a process for aligning your event with your true goals we call Black Line Clarity. You lock into your true objectives going into the race with a clear plan to win, outside of results. What is your "why" for taking on the event? (Your purpose) What is your story going into the event? (Your perspective) What do you want to get out of the experience at the event? (Your outcome) By following this process our team was able to hit their objectives which ranged from completing a course with a plan to hitting a race plan goal. Congratulations to everyone who won their rides! Some of our successes were: 14 top ten finishes! 1st AG 60 mile - Jim Everett 2nd overall woman 100 mile - Tori Dippold 2nd AG 60 mile - Michael Brauer 2nd Overall Woman 20 mile - Airika Romsdahl 2nd AG 100 mile - Laura Henderson 2nd AG 60 mile - Jacob Winklehake 2nd AG 20 mile - Anabelle Cloutier 3rd AG 60 mile - Kristen Roskosh 4th AG 60 Mile - Carl Harmon 4th AG 100 mile - Dani Estenssoro 5th AG 100 mile - Brock Harmon 9th AG 100 mile - Kirsten Alder 9th AG 60 mile - Matt Woolley 10th AG 100 mile - John Young Ken Rose - Successfully riding his zones and finishing strongly on the 100 mile even winning a sprint to the finish! Jeff Pargas - Crushing his PR on the 60 mile course and enjoying the day riding with his coach Stephen Strayer. Stephen Maurer - Riding a strong effort in the 100 mile pacing well over all the climbs despite coming directly from New York. Zach Koelling - Crushing the 120 mile course in 22nd place in just his first year doing gravel events. Morgan Brown - Conquering the insane 120 mile course strongly following his zone pacing plan and hitting all his marks despite mechanicals. Sue Schaedle - Rocking the blue course by riding her zones well and using her mindsets to overcome the heat. Zizi ElGammel - Powering the 60 mile riding smooth and controlled on the climbs and having lots of fun on the downhills and more technical sections. Bob Kuehn - Pacing the 60 mile well and finishing strongly after heart surgery 2 months ago. John Steward - Accomplished goal of getting to a high level before this race but unfortunately got sick the day before the race. Big win was knowing to rest and support his teammates. 🚶♀️ 🚠 Hike Up. Gondola Down. Repeat. 🚶♀️ 🚠 Let's talk #ElevationEverest. 🗻 We didn't know the first thing about "Everesting" training until our friends Alex, Daniel, Kayla, and Paul reached out. But we certainly understand event strategy and are flattered to join the team. The first-ever event, The Half Everest, will take place on September 28, 2024, at Winter Park Resort t. Athletes can compete solo or as part of a relay team to climb half the elevation of Mt. Everest by hiking up the mountain, riding the gondola down, and repeating until they reach 14,516 ft. Celebrate in between laps and at the finish line with music, activities, and more at Base Camp. HIKE UP: Each lap up the mountain is ~1,500 ft of elevation gain and 1.9 miles long. GONDOLA DOWN: Once you reach the top, ride the gondola down to start your next lap or switch out with a team member. REPEAT: Teams and solo athletes will have 17 hours to climb the mountain a total of 10 times - accumulating 14,516 ft in elevation gain over 19 miles. Here's where it gets fun: I (Mike) opened my mouth and decided to enter a team. We have two spots left. Interested in joining? Our treat (and we consider our team quite recreational and non-competitive). Let us know in the comments if you'd like to join our relay team. After ChatGPT is done writing this post I'm going to ask it how to train for a Half-Everest. Learn more: Elevation Everest

I am not sure you even love what I am writing about! But, just read along… I thought this would make for an interesting read... This is the first in my 'What Makes It So Expensive?' that will explore diverse topics and areas of interest. In this series, we will explore a particular horseracing event to explore what makes it so expensive and grandiose. First, let me introduce you to Mystique, not his real name exactly, But forget the name, It is not important for now. What matters is what he has achieved as a three-year-old! Partially covered with exquisite flowers and pictured inside a circle of rings adorned with similarly ravishing flowers, Mystique has just participated in and won an exclusive racing event, The flowers adorning this circle are precisely red geraniums and/or red begonias… Opulence is the name of the event, And the flowers I mentioned cost at least $7 a piece! Mystique, standing in the winner’s circle, has just achieved the improbable. From beating impossible odds to the luck that comes with it, Mystique has won and, in the process, banked a $3.1 million prize to be shared among key facilitators, And to imagine Mystique achieved this feat by the sheer length of his nose! But…. This is not the whole story! How did Mystique get here? We will start this story from the beginning, But first, Let me spur the taste buds… Mystique, real name Mystik Dan, is the racehorse that won this year’s Kentucky Derby. The date is 5th May 2024. This equine athlete has just won a contest that no other racehorse in that particular age category will ever win, The win is the literal real-life example of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I found the story of this particular horseracing event captivating, And for multiple reasons… I will be sharing interesting stories about this and more in an interesting line-up of stories you will love. You will get to learn the intricacies of planning this event and how it relates to other sports disciplines and concepts in general life. If, along the way, the story teaches about values such as teamwork and commitment in relatable ways, you can take that with you as well… Keep your ears (rather eyes) peeled…

If this isn't the paradox to success? I am curious: what you take is on what the world nr. 1 golfer is telling us? So many of my clients aim to become successful. If I am successful (then I will be liked and accepted by others and then) I will be happy. Unfortunately, they don't realize their unconscious is screaming out the words between brackets. Yet they don't hear it, but do act upon is. They hope to become successful and then be defined by their success. BUT: that doesn't work! With this approach, you won't be happy if you do become successful. Plus you reduce your chances. There is too much at risk. Therefore, you trigger more anxiety, get less flow and won't be able to rise to the challenge. Scottie is his own judge, he focuses on what he has control over (best ball striker ever offsetting poor putting). Maybe Scottie was inspired by John Wooden? If so, what message would John & Scottie have for you? * "You are defined by your character, not your performance" * "Success is doing the best your are capable of" * "If, at the end of the game, you look in the mirror and ask yourself: did I do the best I was capable of? If the answer is yes, you have been successful, no matter what the outcome is, but most likely the scoreboard will be to your liking" #mindset #flow #peakperformance #coaching
Your worth transcends your job and occupation. Great anecdote here from Scottie Scheffler in preparation for this weekend's Masters tournament. "Golf's something I do, it's a tremendously huge part of my life, but it doesn't define me as a person." #MVPMindset

🌟 Celebrating an Extraordinary Achievement by Mark Cavendish! 🌟 Mark Cavendish has once again demonstrated that greatness is not just about talent, but about mindset and the accompanying support that fuels our journey. 🚴♂️💨 Cavendish's career has been a rollercoaster, filled with highs and some well documented lows, but yesterday’s record breaking stage win in the Tour de France highlights how he's managed to find a way to channel his more negative side into something that drives him on, and to find a balance that’s raised him above the rest. If he’d not recognised he had poor mental health and done something about it, and crucially had the support he needed to come out stronger, then we wouldn’t be celebrating this achievement today. It just shows what greatness can be achieved with the right support and how small changes can reap big rewards (hint hint, all the businesses out there that don’t have great workplace wellbeing programmes in place!) 😉 And of course despite the solo win it’s a massive team effort to get him there, and all those team members are great allies in understanding what they need to do to support him. Cav's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the incredible heights one can reach when they channel their inner struggles into something positive. Well done, Cav! 👏👏 #MarkCavendish #Inspiration #Perseverance #CyclingGreats #MindsetMatters #AchievementUnlocked #WellDoneCav https://lnkd.in/ey7jmjCM

Your craft may be a big part of your life, but be careful not to allow it to define WHO you are. Let's shift our perspective. Let's embrace a "Being" identity—one where we are fully present in the moment, where our attitude, effort, and character are aligned with serving others, and where we strive for personal growth (because we choose to, not because we fear that we NEED to to be “enough.”) Remember, you are a Human Being, not a Human Doing. Your value extends far beyond your achievements or failures. Many of us are trapped in a "Performance Identity." While it may fuel our success in the short term, in the long run, it can become an obstacle to achieving true performance, well-being, peace, and fulfilling relationships. This mindset is often rooted in an underlying fear of unworthiness—a fear that is exacerbated by preoccupation with how others might perceive us. We worry that any slip-up will confirm our deepest fears of inadequacy and lead to exclusion from our community. However, it's crucial to recognize that this fear is a mental construct, one that doesn't have to dictate our lives. Let's draw inspiration from the ethos of this esteemed golfer, and work towards building an identity based on presence, purpose, and the pursuit of collective well-being rather than just individual accolades. #PersonalGrowth #MindsetShift #HumanBeing #SelfWorth #ServiceToOthers #PersonalExcellence #GolfLife

MONDAY'S MIND BENDER: FY = F50 End of 'EOFYS' sales in Australia. And the start of a new 'financial year' year. Is that tautology? Hmmmm, maybe. In Australia, it is indeed the start of a new FY. Allocations have been set, and new mountains are there to climb. However, the thought for this Monday's mind bender is not just about the new FY. It's also about F50. What's that?? Well, have you spotted the SailGP? It's the grand prix of sailing. With 50 foot catamarans that can fly through the water on foils. Hence called F50. I caught a bit of the crazy action from New York Harbour over the weekend. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gFMQdUsm And if you're like me, and didn't quite get the rules and scoring at first glance, then read on here: https://lnkd.in/g-6AdGDX The insight from all this? Take your new FY one race at a time, measure what matters most, accumulate your points, and you'll get to the top of your ladder. Wherever that may be. Go for it like a F50, and get up on those foils. Happy new FY #marketing #technology #innovation #business #strategy

Are you focused on trees or spaces? I have been a skier almost all of my life. When I first started tree skiing in the back country, I moved slowly. I needed to keep from hitting trees. I was skiing like a beginner. It was exhausting and not much fun. I am a good skier, and love skiing because I move with a rhythm that I can’t find anywhere else, and that was not happening. People had tried to help me out by saying, “Watch me, and just turn around the trees, or pretend they are race poles.” The thing was, to me they were not race poles, and I have never been a racer. In my mind, they were obstacles that could seriously injure me if I wasn’t careful. It was like saying “just do it” without understanding why I was hesitating, and I felt like a failure. One day my friend Jeff asked me, “What are you afraid of?” “I am going to go too fast, hit a tree, and break my neck,” I said. “What do you see when you ski?” he asked. “Trees of course, and I keep hitting them,” was my reply. “What if you ski the spaces instead of the trees?” he offered. This caused me to pause. And I had a significant shift in my perspective. With that simple question, I realized that he was right—I was focused on the trees, the thing I did not want to hit, the danger I was trying to avoid, and it was keeping me from skiing with the skill I knew I had and the joy that comes from exercising that skill with ease. The next run, I tried to concentrate on the spaces between the trees—the place where I wanted to go. And guess what? It was a better run, not great, but better. And the runs just got better and better after that. By skiing the spaces, I took the focus off the thing I feared and put it onto the thing I wanted, and all of the skill I knew I had started to fall back into place. Now tree skiing is one of my favorite places to be. That day I learned the power of a question versus telling someone what they should be doing. I learned how a question can shift perspective and mind-set, getting at what is really holding someone back. In my experience, executives fall prey to the same problem. Something changes in your world, maybe a promotion, a new employee, or new division for which you are responsible, and you start “skiing the trees instead of the spaces.” All the skill you bring to the table starts falling to the wayside and you fall back on old habits that do not serve you well. Is it time for you to shift your perspective and look for the spaces in your world? How do you want to re-ignite your leadership in 2025? Are you ready to take on the challenge with the No Limits Leadership experience? Connect here for more information: https://lnkd.in/gPeMaxvv
