What are 6 key take aways from existing circular value chain initiatives? 🤝 Today I had the honour of presenting about Circular Value Chain collaboration at ImpactFest, together with Sanne van der Linden & ♻️ Siem Haffmans. One of the conclusions is that broader circular value chain programs are needed but are also very much time & resource intensive. So how can you with your company start working on collaboration in your own value chain, identifying opportunities to close loops and/or form new circular business models? Here are my 6 take aways: 1. Start by mapping your value chain & initiate exploratory talks to find out the ambitions, needs & barriers of your partners; 2. Define (a) common goal(s) that you and your value chain partners can rally behind and that creates the same expectations about intended circular results; 3. Start with small and concrete projects in the beginning and dare (with your value chain partners) to think outside the box; 4. Be entrepreneurial and smart: enthuse, convince but also continuously test and adjust where necessary to fine tune your projects & impact; 5. Always keep an eye on legislative and regulatory developments to be aware or ahead of the curve; 6. Be open and transparent to build trust, and remember that it takes a bit of time to build new relationships. Other experiences or anything to add? Please add in the comments:) Thanks ImpactFest & Versnellingshuis for having me! #ImpactFest2024 #ImpactCity #doinggoodanddoingbusiness #letsgocircular Versnellingshuis Route Circulair Partners for Innovation

“Technology grows exponentially, and so does the waste it creates” - Let’s do something about that! This was the key message of the breakout session Roots Digital hosted at nlmtd's Create the Future event. If you missed it, the story went a little something like this: 1️⃣ Digital & Tech is awesome and has helped us transcend human limitations 2️⃣ And because it is so awesome, it is growing exponentially. 3️⃣ But that awesomeness comes at a cost: Digital & Tech is responsible for a 4-5% global carbon emissions and that % is growing... fast. That's obviously a problem that needs to be solved... fast. 4️⃣ But very few C-level (tech) leaders know about this and hence it's not on the C-level agenda. Nor do they know that IT may well play a vital role in hitting sustainability targets and even reduce costs along the way. Luckily, there is a lot that can be done very fast! From truly green cloud (shout-out to leafcloud for innovating in this space) to green software engineering (take a look at Green Software Foundation) to sustainable design, it's all out there. There are so many low hanging fruits any company large and small can capitalise on to lower their carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future. As Jacqueline van den Ende of Carbon Equity - who delivered an amazing keynote 🙇♂️ - so eloquently put it: “… the question is not can we fix this, it’s can we fix this fast enough!” Thank again to our amazing session breakout leads for facilitating interactive group breakouts Paul Kunneman Chris Baldwin, PhD, MBA, Robey de Jong Willem Guensberg And last but not least, thanks again to Pieter Paul van Oerle and nlmtd for making this event possible. #Curbthecarbon #GreenITRevolution #SustainabilityInTech #CIOsForChange #GreenTech #Sustainability #SoftwareDevelopment #futureproof #planetpositive

Why ClimateTech and NatureTech scale-ups aren't cutting-through... Businesses with the technologies we need to save the world are much better at engineering than they are at 💚 telling brilliant stories about engineering 💚 Meanwhile planet-plundering incumbents are better at positioning themselves for investment and scale ☠ We help teams to change that dynamic. Our 6-week Unlock method is perfectly tuned to help scale-ups win the investment and new business they need to thrive. Uniquely we combine world-class positioning, brand and business strategy expertise AND a deep understanding of the green transition, climate science and investment to give you the kick-start you need. Might this be you? Then let's chat. Or perhaps you know a team who deserves more cut-through? Please tag them or connect us? We'd love it if you could repost this too, so we can reach as many deserving teams as we can. You'll know some people who could do with this Emma Mee Sylvain Vaquer Charlie Beevor Paul Drennan-Durose Vishesh Srivastava Michael Langguth David Ferguson Marisa Brickman Tanya Easterman Mark Bjornsgaard Kate Walmsley CC the dream team: Sarah Booth Seb Royce Helen Armstrong Jeremy Cohen Anne-Catherine Greatti Tania Barr

We have just 24 business quarters until, as a collective, we need to remove 1bn tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere annually. Those numbers are terrifying, but we have to do it to have any hope of limiting global warming to less than 2°C above pre-industrial temperatures. What gives me hope is the immense effort of the incredible innovators and businesses (dive into our 'logo soup' to see them all) approaching engineered and nature-based #carbondioxideremoval solutions. Getting the right people together under one roof to accelerate change is a tiny but valuable piece of the puzzle.
🇺🇸 The response to #CarbonUnbound USA has been phenomenal! 🇺🇸 A huge thank you to all the business leaders joining us to tackle #climatechange head-on with #carbondioxideremoval solutions. With hundreds of incredible companies across the value chain in attendance, 2024 is set to be our most impactful summit to date.
