WHAT ARE CAPSTAN DRIVES? 🤖Capstan Drives are a type of mechanical drive system that use friction to transmit power between two rotating elements. A capstan is a cylindrical drum or shaft around which a rope, cable, or belt is wrapped. #practical no. 07 #hydraulicexcavator #SERVO #VALVE #UNIT • The servo valve unit is installed on top of the main pump. • The servo valve unit consists of the following parts. •Their are two servo valve units: one to control the output of the front main pump and the other for the rear main pump. The servo valve unit consists of the following parts 1. Servo valve 2. TVC valve 3. CO· NC valve. assembly 4. Connector #OPERATION Increasing delivery amount {swash plate angle changes to the left) The input signal pressure Pi enters from port I and acts on chamber C of the control piston. In addition, pressure Pc from the charging pump is sent to port j. • If Pi now rises slightly, the oil pressure acting on chamber C will rise slightly, so the control piston (4) will move (to the left) to a position where the force of spring (7) and the oil pressure in chamber C are balanced. When this happens, the angle of the arm (5) changes because the bottom tip of the arm does not change position and it is held by the servo piston (20). The servo piston (20) cannot move because it is held by balancing the oil pressure and the spring. As a result, the guide spool (14) moves to the left. • The movement of this guide spool (14) connects port j and port h, so pressure Pc passes through port I and flows into the chamber e of the servo piston (20). It pushes the servo piston (20) to the left and increases the swash plate angle of the main piston pump to increase the delivery amount. • Because of this, the arm (5) rotates clockwise about the pin (6), so the guide spool (14) moves to the right.
