🌱 Supporting food security with climate action in Kenya 🌍 Agriterra is working in Kenya to improve food security through climate-friendly farming. Together with partners like Moyee Coffee, Agriterra is creating a low-carbon coffee supply chain that uses bio-fertilisers, compost, and sustainable farming to lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and help with rising synthetic fertiliser costs. 💡 Traditional coffee farming relies on synthetic fertilisers, which produce high CO2 emissions. Agriterra's team, led by adviser Daan Vreeburg, supports coffee cooperatives in switching to bio-fertilisers and composting, making coffee farming more climate-friendly and financially stable. 💬 Daan gives an example of a successful project: "Demo Farm is a regenerative coffee plantation where we grow coffee and other crops. The farm is now CO2-negative because the trees around the farm store CO2.
