To those who don't know, The Axonics System is a clinically proven, long-lasting solution for people suffering with overactive bladder, fecal incontinence and urinary retention. It got its approval from Health Canada in 2022 and Alberta is where the main surgeon and KOL,Dr Gray, and his team has been assisting Canadians with this technology. A month ago, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by this disruptor in the Canada SNM industry. Despite my thorough research and preparation to learn about the company and the market, unfortunately, I was not able to shine through and showcase how I was the best value add to their team among all the candidates despite the lack of current hands on urology experience that they preferred. Looking back, I know that I can do better during interviews had I better prepared how to answer the hiring manager's unique approach to interviewing. Did I have regrets?Yes. Would I reinterview again? Absolutely, when another opportunity comes.Just because you failed once, it's not the end of the world. Instead, I doubled down on things that I can control like improving my leadership, educational and sales skills while waiting for another opportunity---be it with Axonics, its competitors or other med device and pharma companies. Although you and the people around you know how you could be competent on the job, if you don't present yourself well during the interview then you just doomed yourself to fail. Don't be like the "then" me! So to summarize,I don't currently work for Axonics, Inc. but I do believe in their revolutionary product's benefit to my incontinent cllients in continuing care who have failed their numerous pharmacologic and behavioral approaches to their treatment. In celebration of Men's health month, read and share the article below. Raise awareness of Men's incontinence and this available option to treat it.
