Pedigree solved easily 2 Pedigrees are commonly used in families to find out the probability of a child having a disorder in a particular family. its two most prominent goals are to discover where the genes in question are located (x, y, or autosome chromosome), and to determine whether a trait is dominant or recessive. Pedigrees show an autosomal disease when it is a 50/50 ratio between men and women the disorder is autosomal. it is considered an x-linked disease when most of the males in the pedigree are affected the disorder is x-linked. Another use of the pedigrees is to determine whether the disorder is dominant or recessive. if the disorder is dominant, one of the parent must have said disorder. however, if it is recessive, then neither parent has to have it. 🌍 Today is World Movement Disorders Day! A time to shine a light on the millions of people living with conditions like Parkinson’s, dystonia, tremors, ataxia, Huntington’s Disease, Tourette syndrome, and more. These disorders can impact movement, but they don’t define the people who live with them. Let’s use this day to listen, learn, and advocate. Movement disorders are part of the rich diversity of human experience, and everyone deserves the chance to thrive in a world that’s accessible and inclusive. Here’s how we can make a difference: ✔️ Take time to learn about movement disorders and share what you’ve learned. ✔️ Advocate for better accessibility, understanding, and support. ✔️ Celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of those in the movement disorder community. Together, we can build a kinder, more inclusive world where disabilities are met with support and empowerment. #WorldMovementDisordersDay #DisabilityAwareness #Inclusivity #MoveDisorder

Tourette’s Syndrome isn’t just tics. Maybe someone has told you their child has Tourette’s Syndrome but you’re a bit confused, because you haven’t *seen* them tic or present in a way the media portrays it. This doesn’t mean this person isn’t fighting with their tics all day long. Some individuals' tics are really mild, and you wouldn’t even know that they’re actually ticcing. You can’t see the pain and discomfort that comes before a movement (tic) and you can’t see all the other elements that often come alongside having a tic disorder. Some people are proficient at suppressing their tics, but hiding them means they’re likely feeling tense or even in pain. (Try not blinking for the whole time you’re with a friend next time! It’s like that.) Some parents won’t even share their child’s diagnosis, because they’ve been dismissed, put down, or told they are making it up. With this in mind, please educate yourself today so you can be more understanding in the future. 🙏 #Neurodiversity #Therapy #MentalHealth
