Question: When is standing out from the crowd an advantage❓🤔 Answer: Almost always when it comes to finding a job! 🕵️ Applicants need to make themselves known amid a sea of other jobseekers - and one of the most impactful ways to do this is to carefully prepare your online profiles to support your applications. We’re not suggesting that you should rewrite your Facebook or Insta to reflect what’s written in your resume - clearly, LinkedIn is the platform to focus on here. Even if you only make a little more effort than your peers when preparing your online profile - it will make a difference. Because a little effort is enough to make you stand out! 🐧 You just need to know where to start. 📍 That’s why our next online workshop, taking place from 9.30-11am CET on the 8th of November, is a deep-dive into using LinkedIn to Elevate your Job Search! I always tell people that your network is everything. But let’s be clear—I don’t think of networking as a job. For me, it’s about making friends, meeting interesting people, and being curious about their stories. I want to know their wins, their challenges, and especially how they got back up after being knocked down. If you don’t like people, yeah, networking can feel like a chore. But trust me, it's worth it. Here are just a few things my network has done for me: 1- Clients. Thanks to connections through connections through connections, I’ve worked with companies like ABN Amro and Quatt. #grateful 2- School intel. My mom network keeps me in the loop with school updates when I’m stretched too thin. 🏫👩🏼👩🏻 3- Employees. As a small business, word of mouth is everything. My network has helped me find people for marketing, projects—you name it. 4- Close friendships. I’ve got a whole squad I can call on whether I need a laugh, a vent, or just a good cry (sometimes all at once). 😂😫 5- Jobs. I haven’t had to formally apply for a job ever—until I moved to the Netherlands. But even then, a connection from my mom network got me back to “never applying again” status. 🙌 The list could go on… But here’s the thing—it took time. Networking isn’t a one-and-done coffee chat. It’s coffees, WhatsApps, cocktails, and building trust over time. That said, you have to start somewhere… why not here on LinkedIn? If you’re reading this, you already know the basics. You’ve got a profile, made some connections, maybe even applied for a job. But are you using LinkedIn to its full potential? Are you building a network that can actually open doors? At Empowerment Foundation, we hear from clients all the time about their struggles getting back into the job market—whether it’s the language barrier, a skills gap, or just that gap in their career. That’s why I’m hosting a LinkedIn workshop to help you level up your networking and job search game. Friday, 8 November 9:30 – 11:00 CET Let’s make LinkedIn work for you! 🚀 #linkedinfornetworking #jobsearch #networking #levelup

Is your resume getting rejected for the 10th, 11th, or 12th time? Here's an easy solution to fix it. If a prospective employer doesn’t reply to your email? You can say “I’m bad at networking.” Or you can support them via LinkedIn - drop a valuable comment to their post, send a DM, and build trust. If your experience isn’t being recognized? You can say that “nobody will give you a chance.” Or you can find a way to make your value impossible to ignore, by optimizing your LinkedIn profile to stand out from crowded jobseekers. If a company rejects you after an interview? You can write them off for good. Or you can thank each person you interacted with and make a point to maintain those relationships via LinkedIn. The job search is 20% what happens to you and 80% how you react. ---------------------------------- 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦! 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗕𝗜𝗚 & 𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗪! Is your LinkedIn profile & CV OUTDATED? Handy LinkedIn tip: Did you know that using the career break function in LinkedIn can create gaps in your profile? It apparently removes you from recruiter searches and doesn't show on your LinkedIn CV. (I spent way too long thinking "but where's that gone...?"). To avoid this, consider entering it as a regular job in order to account for the time. After all, finding a new role is a job in itself - which I'm currently enjoying. It's good to get back to doing officey-type things. #LinkedInTips #CareerAdvice

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 Yes, I said it!! I know it's blunt, but... If you're asking for free consultations or "quick" LinkedIn and resume fixes - STOP. ✋🏻 See, this isn’t aimed at everyone, but too often, I’m asked for free consultations or resume and LinkedIn optimisation! And, ↳ 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 to those of us who’ve invested months perfecting these skills and providing real results. ↳ 𝐈𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 the hours, expertise, and commitment we invest. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠? People don’t hesitate to invest lakhs in degrees or courses that might not even land them the first interview. But paying for expert career services? Suddenly, it’s “too expensive.” Here’s the thing: I’m not here to convince anyone. Not everyone values professional services that lead to real, tangible results. And that’s okay. But for those who are ready to 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬: If you want: - An 𝐀𝐓𝐒-𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 that gets noticed - A 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞 that recruiters can’t scroll past - 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 that’s effective Comment “𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤” and I’ll reach out. #CareerGrowth #LinkedInOptimization #NoFreeWork
