🌿 The Story Behind MridaKaya Organics 🌿 At MridaKaya Organics, our name is more than just a brand – it’s a reflection of our values, roots, and a tribute to the most important people in my life. Why "MridaKaya"? "Mrida" means soil in Sanskrit, symbolizing the foundation of life, fertility, and growth – all of which are integral to organic farming and sustainability. "Kaya" refers to body, representing health, nourishment, and well-being. Together, MridaKaya stands for nurturing both the earth and our bodies, promoting a holistic approach to agriculture and wellness. But there's a personal touch to the name too. The letter M stands for my mother's name, and K stands for my father's name. Through MridaKaya, I honor their unwavering support and love, which have shaped my journey and passion for organic farming. Join us as we work to enrich the soil and foster a healthier planet, one step at a time. #MridaKayaOrganics #Sustainability #OrganicFarming #HealthySoil #HealthyLife #FamilyValues #Vermicompost

Citronella oil, derived from the leaves and stems of the Cymbopogon plant, has deep roots in Thailand’s agricultural history. Traditionally cultivated by small-scale farmers, citronella has been valued for its refreshing citrus aroma and natural insect-repelling properties. In the early 20th century, Thailand emerged as a significant producer, owing to its ideal tropical climate and rich soil. The oil, used widely in aromatherapy, cosmetics, and household products, became a popular export due to its versatility and natural appeal. In recent years, the demand for natural and eco-friendly products has surged, revitalizing the citronella industry. Ultra International has played a pivotal role in this transformation, championing sustainable farming practices in Thailand. Partnering with local farmers, Ultra has introduced innovative techniques to boost yield while maintaining soil health and biodiversity. The company’s initiatives include organic farming, fair trade practices, and investment in advanced distillation technology, ensuring high-quality oil production. Looking ahead, Ultra International is committed to expanding its sustainable footprint, focusing on regenerative agriculture to enhance environmental resilience. The future of citronella oil in Thailand is promising, driven by rising consumer demand for natural ingredients and Ultra’s continued dedication to ethical and eco-friendly practices, making it a leader in the global essential oils industry. #thailand #essentialoils #sustainable #ecofriendly #insect-repellent #aromatherpy #fragrance #detergent

Thank you Shivam Gupta for mentioning this. We at Sid's Farm have always been promoting Azolla as an economical and natural replacement (partial) of Dana (cattle feed), the prices of which hover around ₹25 a kg. Clean, natural, and economical, Azolla is a wonder fern adding true value to the upstream agri chain. We are glad that we are able to execute this alongside Shivam. Several studies have actually also found Azolla as one of the most potential biofuel sources because: (1) It does not displace existing agricultural production since it grows in freshwater as shallow as 2.5 CM too (2) It doesn't show any greenhouse gas emission. In fact it reduces greenhouse gases by sequestration of atmospheric CO2 (3) In 1976, JW Newton also recorded hydrogen production capabilities of Azolla at 760 nmol per gram fresh weight of Azolla per hour. This can also be enhanced by exposing it to partial vacuum, thus making it a viable choice for production of H2 as a non-polluting high-energy fuel. Please do visit our farm near Hyderabad with you friends and family any Saturday to learn more about this and the entire dairy value chain. All you've to do is call our helpdesk at 8008002152 and book a visit. We're doing something cool to help the environment and farmers. We teamed up with Sid's Farm to make Azolla Pits for dairy farmers. Azolla is a kind of algae that's good for cows because it has lots of protein. Usually, farmers have to spend a lot of money on expensive food for their cows, but Azolla grows for free and doesn't need much looking after. It also helps clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide, like a tree does. With Sids Farm, we'll make these pits for farmers and teach them how to use them. Our friends at The Affordable Organic Store and Sids Farm are helping too. We think this will make a big difference and help the environment. #startuplife #sustainability

🌱 Today marks three months since I stepped into the role of General Manager at NASAA Organic! In this time, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to connect with Operators across diverse parts of the industry — poultry, horticulture, beef, lamb, wine, as well as food products, cosmetics, organic inputs and retailers. 🐔 🥔 🥕 🐄 🐑 🍷 It’s inspiring to see so many producers dedicated to creating certified organic, biodynamic, regenerative, sustainable, and humane products for both the Australian market and beyond. 💚 The passion in this industry is tangible, and can be seen in those who pour their heart and soul into crafting unique products for consumers. It’s truly contagious! Alongside visiting Operators, we've been actively involved with the Organic Development Group (ODG), which convened in Canberra on September 10 to address domestic organic regulation and achieved some very positive progress. There has also been ample opportunities to connect with wonderful individuals, local politicians, community groups and other NFPs at a broad range of networking sessions, training sessions, industry events and trade shows. In particular with our industry colleagues at the Parliamentary Friends of Organics BBQ, graciously organized by AOL, at Parliament in Canberra. These past three months have been a rewarding journey in itself, allowing me to deepen my understanding of our organization and the broader sustainable agriculture landscape. 📚 Though we’re a small team at NASAA Organic, we’re a passionate one, committed to engaging, educating, and promoting the industry. 💡 As a result, we have some exciting initiatives to be announced in coming months - keep an eye out! 👀 So, regardless of whether you're a NASAA Member or not, if you're a business, organisation or individual who needs support or would like to collaborate on a project, please reach out in the comments, via email or by calling us 🌿 ✉ info@nasaa.com.au 📞 (08) 7231 7705 #NASAAOrganic #CertifiedOrganic #Biodynamic #Sustainable #Regenerative

We love nature and want to protect it. 🌱 Putting our words into action, we are now combining old traditions with new ideas for our mushroom extract Laricyl®: Since 2023, the mycelium of the Fomes officinalis mushroom has been cultivated using solid-state fermentation, replacing the traditional method of harvesting from the wild. This sustainable cultivation supports the goals of our #ResponsiblyActive program, which aims for 100% traceability and sustainability in our botanical supply chains and 50% organic certification by 2030. 👉 To learn more about our efforts, download the full 2023 update: https://lnkd.in/eHanqQJq Together we are #ResponsiblyActive. #Care360_SolutionsForSustainableLife #BASF_Care360 #BASF #sustainability #bioactives #botanicals #SustainableCosmetics #SustainableSourcing

Here at Mountain Rose Herbs, we have always believed it is important to remain independently owned to serve the wellness needs of our community instead of the financial needs of shareholders. But in the last few years, the majority of herbal companies that we have known for decades have been acquired by private equity firms, investment holdings, and venture capitalists. Our herbal business community has gotten smaller, and the industry is pushing toward a profit-driven model. In the current environment, we are more committed than ever to remain staunchly independent and run by humans who care. Our commitment to independence is one of the reasons we work closely with The Cornucopia Institute. This nonprofit consumer education organization researches brands and investigates the agricultural industry to identify and elevate authentic organic foods and farmers. As part of their mission, they maintain a list of nationally available, organic, independently owned brands so that conscious consumers like you know who and what your dollars support. To help amplify this message, we are now including Cornucopia's helpful list in your next Mountain Rose Herbs order!
