I am pleased to share with you that I have obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree at the Open Universiteit (OU). What began as a hobby during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, ended in the completion of this master's program and an appetite for further academic pursuits. I would like to express my gratitude to dr. Master Research Methods: Dive into research techniques tailored to your field. 3. Publish Your Work: Start with your master’s thesis and aim to produce at least one research article in reputable journals in your field. 4. Stand Out: Publishing a paper makes you shine among other candidates and earn the trust of prospective professors, easing your path to scholarships and letters of acceptance (LoA). When I applied for the MEXT scholarship in 2018, having a published paper from my master’s thesis was a game-changer. It helped me secure LoA from four professors at a time in top universities like Kyoto U, Osaka U, and Kyushu U. Good luck! I can't wait to hear about your success! 🌟

Online Master in Computational Engineering & Industrial Mathematics Starting in September 2025, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) offers the new Master in Computational Engineering & Industrial Mathematics. This is an official degree in English that combines online classes with face-to-face final exams to guarantee the maximum quality. The program covers topics such as Data Analytics, Mathematical Modeling, Optimization, Simulation, and Machine/Statistical Learning, with applications to Logistics and Transportation, Smart Cities, Production, Finance, etc. The Master is promoted by the UPV Campus d'Alcoi, and has been designed by full professors and top researchers at UPV, including Angel A. What can a PhD/academic bring to the business world? One of my favorite depictions of the breadth of skills developed in a PhD program and academia is by Elena Hoffer, PhD. Pursuing a PhD is the ultimate training in "figure it out." We get accepted into a program to study a specific topic (e.g., human memory) but the skills we learn along the way are industry agnostic. It doesn't matter if we're doing research in a laboratory, standing in front of a classroom, or conducting market research at a marketing and communications firm, we've been trained to learn quickly and apply our skills with agility and very little guidance. Provide a little bit of structure and clear expectations and a PhD will wow you time and again.
