great podcast..exactly what We are trying to achieve here and really honing in on those traits and using specific data thanks to MINDA and LIC #LIC #MINDA #GenomicData #DairyBreeding #CowTraits #BreedingWorth #EfficientFarming #DairyNZ #SmartBreeding #DataDrivenFarming #HerdImprovement #MilkProduction #BetterCows #PCBS
Recently two of our amazing Senior Agri Managers, Charlotte Gray and Rosanna Dickson joined Sheryl Haitana and Sarah Perriam-Lampp on The Dairy Exporter Podcast to chat about how we can use MINDA as a tool for understanding what makes an efficient cow. They also discussed how farmers can get the best out of their best cows, the potential limitations of herd data, and ways of measuring efficiency. 📊⭐🐮 “Within MINDA there’s custom reports so farmers can rank cows by any trait of interest, there’s existing ones like MINDA milk for example but it’s about pulling it together with your Agri Manager to enable the forecasting aspect. The data of the herd today isn’t always going to be the most efficient herd of tomorrow”. Listen in to the full podcast: https://lnkd.in/ggZCEHHj

We welcome today’s announcement that AHDB - Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, with support from Quality Meat Scotland, has launched a £2.5 million pilot project to baseline environmental impacts on up to 170 farms across Great Britain. Baseline environmental assessments are a crucial first step in transforming agriculture into a significantly more sustainable and profitable sector. These assessments can also open doors for farmers to access new markets and financial incentives aimed at supporting sustainable practices. However, given the complexity of agriculture, selecting the right assessment software is essential for obtaining consistent, comparable, and credible calculations across all enterprises. We must reliably account for the various system types, management practices, and land uses present on farms throughout the country. Sandy is the only tool that provides the level of consistency, credibility, and ease of use needed to represent the net carbon position of livestock and arable farms. It helps farmers navigate towards their desired profitability and sustainability outcomes and as such, it enables a rational transformation of individual farms and the agricultural sector as a whole. Join us in celebrating this milestone and supporting the future of sustainable agriculture! 🌱💡 #Agriculture #Sustainability #Innovation #Technology #Farming #Profitability #SustainableFarming
AHDB is leading an industry-first £2.5m baselining pilot that will enable more accurate reporting of emissions and the environmental impact of agriculture. 🎙️Dive into the details in our latest podcast episode. https://ow.ly/2fXt50RJvpK ▶️Or watch it here: https://ow.ly/pKgg50RJvpJ In Scotland, the pilot will be a collaboration between AHDB and Quality Meat Scotland.
