Malaysia - The new Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 (ACT A1648), will come into effect on 1 June 2024. This landmark legislation introduces significant changes to OSHA, incorporating provisions from the Factories and Machinery Act (FMA). The amendments include new duties and obligations for employers and increased penalties for non-compliance. With nearly 10,000 Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) in Malaysia and counting, the importance of MEWPs safety is more critical than ever. The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is collaborating closely with Master Builder Association Malaysia (MBAM) and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health in Malaysia (DOSH) to ensure that all stakeholders—from users to rental companies and manufacturers—are fully compliant. *Taken today at the MBAM Safety & Health Conference 2024 Sime Darby Convention Centre. It explains each requirements of in steps and contains some example of forms and checklist to assist the user.
