A big move for the team at Pink Moon Studios as they shift their gaming token and assets to Polygon Labs layer 2 scaling solution 🕹 This brings many advantages, including greater EVM compatibility, scalability, lower gas fees, a vibrant ecosystem and more credibility. It's great timing, too, given Ethereum's Dencun upgrade last week, which has brought fees down to near zero on layer 2 solutions like Polygon. Blockchain infrastructure is evolving rapidly, and it's getting closer to becoming truly enterprise-ready (instant and free or as good as). For everyone in web3, it’s been a grueling winter. Many events have given ample reason to test our conviction. But just like seasons pass, so has the winter, and the entire web3 gaming world has seen a resurgence in activity. We’re proud to announce our $4M pre-seed round to provide the railways that will take web3 gaming to new heights. Back in 2021, my cofounder Jess Zhang and I were looking at the web3 community, then dominated by DeFi and JPEGs. We thought, surely there’s a better application for the budding tech, one that can bring benefits to everyone, not just crypto degens. The problem was that onboarding someone on to web3 took no less than a dozen steps, each of which could result in getting your assets drained. We won’t ever reach mass adoption with these minefields. In order for web3 to be successful, it must be AT LEAST as easy as web2. And that’s where Blockus comes in. We’re not just building bridges between the two webs, we’re building a better ecosystem for gaming in general, where players, studios, creators, and publishers alike can flourish. Today, we’re on the precipice of dozens of quality web3 game launches, with better ways to play, build, and have fun. I participated in the seed round for BlockGames under the following terms: Ticker: $BLOCK Deal Terms: - Raise Date: January 2024 - Token Generation Event (TGE): April 11, 2024 - Price per Token: $0.04 - Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV): $40M - Unlock: 10% upon TGE - Cliff: 9 months - Vesting: 15 months linear - Claimable: Tokens The structure of the agreement allows for 10% of tokens to be unlocked at the TGE, with the remaining 90% subject to a 15-month linear vesting schedule with a 9-month cliff. At the TGE in April 2024, I received my initial 10% allocation, which returned 85% of my original investment. With the next 10% allocation, I expect to fully recoup my investment and begin realizing profit. The remaining 90% of my token allocation will begin unlocking in January 2025, in accordance with the vesting terms.
