Matthew Hobbs is the CEO of the Motor Trades Association of Australia (MTAA), which represents the Australian automotive retail industry. Its members include state automotive chambers of commerce and over 15,000 diverse businesses such as dealerships, repair shops, tow truck operators, and service stations. Under Matt's leadership, the MTAA is navigating significant industry changes. It focuses on policies and programs that support the shift to low-emission transport and ensure the workforce is properly skilled for the future. Matt has extensive experience in the automotive sector, having held senior domestic and international roles at General Motors (GM) and Nissan, as well as the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries. His career includes strategic planning, industry development, and governance roles, such as serving on GM's global risk committee. With a strong business development, marketing, and product strategy background, Matt is proficient in navigating complex industry challenges and driving innovation.
