Many people spend this time indulging themselves which is not a bad thing, but sadly that's the only thing many do. Remember that for many the only new thing for them in a new year is the change of calendar but many habits and patterns that brought stagnation still remain. Emphasizing the Power of Grassroots Problem-Solving A few months back, I was looking to install WiFi at my place. Like many, I researched the best plans, aiming for a brand that could offer a stable, smooth, and secure experience – the "3 S's" I believe are essential to maintaining a loyal customer base. I decided to go with Airtel, opting for a six-month plan. Everything was set, but a minor issue arose during the installation: since I live in a rented house, I couldn’t get my landlord's permission to drill for the installation. Instead of exploring alternatives, the installer simply chose to abandon the job, resulting in my refund. Disappointed, I turned to a local vendor. This technician, however, took a different approach. He examined all possible options, and in true "Indian jugaad" fashion, found a small hole in the ventilation vent that could accommodate the wiring, bypassing the drilling requirement altogether. This experience reminded me of the significance of grassroots incentives and problem-solving, which can influence everything from pricing and marketing to product satisfaction. A solid foundation, empowered by creative solutions at the ground level, can truly drive long-term success. As the saying goes, “If your base is strong, you’ll eventually build a very tall building.” Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali! #GrassrootsInnovation #CustomerExperience #ProblemSolving #HappyDiwali #FestivalOfLights

Ripple Effect
How a Simple Daily Gesture of Kindness Transformed Our Office Culture and Perspective For some time now, my mom has made it a daily ritual to donate biscuits (Rs. 5 each) and fresh bananas to security guards and helpers around our complex on her way to the temple. I've observed the joy these small gifts bring to people who often earn around Rs. 10,000 a month. Most of them cannot afford to spend even Rs. 100 on food each day. Inspired by her example, we began offering biscuits and small water bottles to delivery personnel visiting our office. Many of them are constantly on the move and often skip meals. The reactions are heartwarming—some are surprised, others smile. It’s a simple gesture that uplifts everyone involved. In a way, kindness feels selfish because it brings us so much joy. This culture of kindness has become a part of our office environment. I want to extend my gratitude to Dhiren Dharamshi & Amarjeet Rai CWM®, as well as our driver, Akhilesh Yadav, who ensures we have a steady supply of biscuits and water. Special thanks to Sweta, Rashmi, Sagar, Priyanka & Abhishek too. This Diwali, my colleague Amarjeet Rai CWM® Amarjeet chose to use his gift budget to purchase writing pads for ~180 children at a nearby municipal school in Goregaon. I was genuinely impressed by his thoughtfulness. Last week, at the MTNL signal in Goregaon West, our driver handed a water bottle to a traffic police officer who expressed his gratitude, mentioning he was thirsty. It struck me that I had never seen traffic police with water, snacks, or tiffin. They have a challenging job. My mom may not realize the ripple effect of her kindness on people she has never met. Now, my wife has also embraced this practice at home. I smiled when a delivery boy asked for a second pack of biscuits because he was hungry. There are many wonderful books on kindness, but Om Swami's The Book of Kindness is a personal favorite. One of my favorite videos online shows how a security camera inspires a kind man to paint a bicycle path on his doorstep. You can watch it here. https://lnkd.in/gea4iQ_U If you're a DIY investor, stay tuned for my next post about a book that can help elevate your investing journey. #KindnessMatters #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement #Gratitude Stay tuned for more insights on building a positive workplace culture!

🎄 Christmas Day: A Time for Awareness and Compassion 🎄 Today is Christmas Day—a day that looks different for everyone. For some, it’s a time filled with joy, surrounded by family, presents under the tree, and festive meals. For others, it’s a quieter day, focused on being together and cherishing simple moments. But let’s not forget those who face Christmas differently. Many people are spending today alone, feeling isolated or overwhelmed by sadness. For them, this day can be a stark reminder of what they don’t have—family, connection, or even the means to celebrate. At Support The Girls Australia, we recognize that everyone experiences Christmas uniquely. Whether it’s a day of celebration, reflection, or just another day to get through, there’s no right or wrong way to acknowledge it. Let’s hold space for all experiences today. Reach out to someone you know who might be struggling, or simply take a moment to reflect on the strength and resilience of those doing it tough. However you spend today, know that your feelings are valid. 💛 #ChristmasCompassion #BeKind #SupportEachOther

How is it that we claim to be good human beings, engaging in acts of kindness and generosity? I see corporate posters proclaiming their commitment to "doing great things" every day. Yet here we are, at the year-end festivities, inundated with joyful celebrations splashed across social media. Meanwhile, a real-time genocide unfolds before our eyes. How can we indulge in festive cakes and puddings while babies are starving because there’s no milk or formula to feed them? How is it that amidst the hustle of buying Christmas gifts, our brothers and sisters struggle to find clean water, a pair of shoes, a roof over their heads, or even a simple aspirin for pain relief? Let’s take a moment to reflect on our actions in contrast to the suffering around us. How do we reconcile our celebrations with the harsh realities faced by so many? It’s a call to examine our priorities and extend our humanity beyond our immediate circles, to remember that true compassion requires awareness and action, not just good intentions.

ThinkEDI’s Festive Allyship Tip #2: Find Out More About Different Ways to Celebrate The festive season is celebrated in many diverse ways around the world. Learning about different traditions fosters inclusion and helps build a sense of belonging for all. Here are a few examples: Diwali: The Festival of Lights, celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains, symbolises the victory of light over darkness. Homes are lit with oil lamps, and families come together for feasts and fireworks. Hanukkah: This Jewish festival lasts eight days and commemorates the miracle of light. Families light a menorah, recite blessings, and enjoy traditional foods like latkes. Kwanzaa: A celebration of African heritage focusing on unity, self-determination, and creativity. Families light candles on a kinara and exchange culturally meaningful gifts. Winter Solstice: Celebrated by those with spiritual or nature-based beliefs, marking the shortest day and welcoming the return of longer days. Christmas: A Christian holiday celebrated in a variety of ways worldwide, from family gatherings and gift-giving to acts of charity and community service. Taking the time to learn about these diverse celebrations helps us all be more culturally aware and inclusive during the holidays. #CulturalAwareness #FestiveAllyship #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveCelebrations #ThinkEDI Image Description: A dark purple background with the ThinkEDI logo (a lightbulb icon followed by the text "ThinkEDI"). On the right, a hanging bauble contains the text "12 Weeks of Festive Allyship." The Post-Diwali Ritual of Giving Back 🎇🐾 Usually, I I don’t prefer sharing personal stories online. But as everything moved digital, I realized these little experiences might resonate and inspire more people. So here’s a glimpse into my post-Diwali ritual with friends, where the focus isn’t just celebration but also support for our furry friends. In many Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, Diwali lasts 2-3 days, and most local food stalls, restaurants, and dhabas close up during this period—leaving stray animals without their regular food sources. 🐶🐱 That’s when we step in, using these days to make sure these animals are looked after, getting them the food and care they need. It’s not about lectures on bursting crackers; it’s about doing our bit to support the community, human and animal alike. So, if you’re someone who loves animals and enjoys the festival, consider adding this small ritual to your celebrations. Every little bit helps! 🫶
