The MTSI Tucson team successfully fulfilled the entire wish list for Make Way for Books, supporting a strong start to the new school year. MTSI matched the employee giving with a $1,000 corporate gift! Make Way for Books is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering early literacy skills in children from birth to age five. Staff from both the Story Project (which serves early childhood educators) and Story School (which supports families) were present to receive the generous donation and were so excited and thankful for the support. #employeeowned #esop #MakeWayforBooks

With two decades of experience and over a quarter of a million graduates from our award-winning programs, Start2Finish is now tackling our greatest challenge yet: the long-term effects of COVID-19 on children's literacy and well-being. Working on the frontlines in over 80 communities and school boards, we have witnessed the impact of elementary school children being "out of school" for over 24 months. Our children are struggling – literacy scores are declining, and mental health issues are escalating among increasingly younger children, especially those living on the economic margins. While COVID-19 may seem like ancient history to many, its effects continue to impact our most vulnerable. In response to this crisis, Start2Finish has launched the "Keep the Lights On" project in collaboration with school boards across the nation. Your support is essential. By donating essential items—books, healthy snacks, school supplies—you can help equip our programs to meet this urgent need. Together, let’s brighten the path for these children and help them thrive. Be a light for learning. Donate today and share our mission with your friends and family! As a Team Lead Coach for EC Pod 2, I believe it is extremely vital to navigate a bright path for these children! Let’s rally together to make a positive impact on the children we serve this holiday season. Remember, donations close on Dec 31, so there’s still plenty of time to spread the word! I've spent over 300 hours creating "Nurturing Play and Beyond: Middle Years Child Care Fundamentals, Principles, and Practices," and I feel like I'm just getting started. The potential benefits to the child care sector are mahoosive! The team at Learnbase did an excellent job of transforming material—gathered from over 30 years of working with extraordinary educators, children, and families in the child care sector—into a truly engaging course. You: "If you're so excited, Tyler, then where is the course? When will it be offered?" Me: "That's a good question. I've been collaborating with non-profit agencies and charities to guide the course through a bursary process, ensuring it's not only holistic and accessible but also affordable." You: "What's with the Dingle photo? How does it relate to the course you're excited about?" Me: "Another great question. It doesn't relate. I just think it's hilarious." Details on the course offering coming soon! #earlylearning #earlychildhoodeducation #elearning #learningdesign #tranformative

How does one boost women's equity? Giving her access to an education is one of the most powerful tools. For these women, literacy means having a place in the community, understanding teachers and doctors, having a say in their future. #projectembo #womenseducation #sustainable goals
Thursdays are a special day in Oldorko, where the women are always keen to join in on weekly afternoon literacy lessons. Judith's lessons are always engaging which makes learning so much fun! Literacy opens doors for these women and TEMBO's lessons empower them to reach new heights every week. Even a small donation can change a woman’s life. www.projectembo.org #literacy #school #empowerment #informaleducation #education #projecttembo #empoweringwomen #charity

East Bay Children's Book Project (EBCBP) - Holiday Donation Do you have children's and teen books to pass on? The mission of East Bay Children's Book Project (EBCBP) is to help build literacy by putting books into the hands of children who have little or no access to them. Working through individuals and organizations who help children in need, the organization has given out more than two million free books since opening their doors in May 2005. What: new and gently used children’s books, including board books through high school books. Books should be clean with no marks or stains. No textbooks, religious books, encyclopedias, magazines, adult books, or library discards. Monetary donations can be accepted by mail at 2501 Harrison St., Oakland, CA 94612 or online at https://lnkd.in/gyn-rHCW When/Where: - Turkey Trot bib pick up on Wed Nov 27 3-6pm at Veterans' Hall, - Piedmont Middle School library in the EBCBP box during school hours 8:40-2:40 - EBCBP, 2501 Harrison St., Oakland (across from Whole Foods) Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm and 1st Sat of month (Dec 7). Look for the purple door facing Harrison St at the "Keep Clear" area of road. Why: Too many children in the Bay Area live in homes without books, and attend schools and programs where books are in short supply. Encouraging reading is not enough when families and schools do not have books. Books are given directly to children in need by teachers, social workers, health care professionals, community outreach groups, housing authority employees, and police officers. Some are used by schools, daycare and community centers, homeless shelters, and hospitals to create libraries at their sites.

UPDATE: Empathy High School Opening Delayed I'm writing this update with a mix of emotions - disappointment, gratitude, and hope. We received feedback from the District Authorities regarding our request for a temporary license to open Empathy High School on 3rd. February. Unfortunately, they rejected our request due to the incomplete construction of essential facilities, including toilets, washrooms, and the classroom block. While this delay is tough, it's also a reminder of why we're doing this. We're not just building a school - we're building a community, a safe space for vulnerable children to grow and thrive. So, what's next? We've set a new target opening date of May 20th, and we're committed to completing the remaining work as soon as possible. But we can't do it alone. That's where you come in. We're calling on our amazing community to help us bridge the funding gap. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to opening our doors and changing lives of vulnerable children who can’t access high school education. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/d8yg9Arr This project is in conjunction with Dear Future International, and the Alliance for Unitive Justice #EmpathyHighSchool #EducationForAll #SupportVulnerableChildren #DonateNow #MakeADifference #EmpoweringCommunities #QualityEducationMatters @highlight

🎁This holiday season GiGi's Playhouse is asking you to give the most important gift you can give: the gift of literacy. Individuals with Down syndrome often face barriers in learning to read and write. At GiGi's, we're breaking down those barriers. Our FREE literacy tutoring program gives children and adults with Down Syndrome the tools they need to communicate, share their stories, and unlock communication! But we can't do it without you! It costs us $100 to fund 1 literacy tutoring session. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000, enough to fund 1,000 literacy tutoring sessions! And when you give to GiGi's this holiday season, you're doubling your impact. All end-of-year gifts will be matched up to $500,000! Your generosity fuels change. Let's give a voice to those who need it most. CLICK HERE to donate: https://bit.ly/3VferTs #gigisplayhouse #downsyndrome #literacytutoring

🌟 Redefining Support for Mothers 🌟 As a board member for The Motherhouse Collective, I’m thrilled to be part of an organization that is reimagining how we support mothers in every stage of life. The Motherhouse Collective envisions a world where moms no longer have to choose between their well-being, family fulfillment, and professional aspirations. Whether pursuing a career or dedicating time to parenting at home, every mother deserves access to resources, knowledge, and emotional support. 💡 Why this matters: Motherhood is complex, and societal expectations often leave moms feeling overwhelmed or isolated. By creating spaces where moms feel seen, valued, and supported, we’re helping them bridge personal and parental responsibilities, thrive in their roles, and live fulfilling lives. 🚀 How you can help: Your donation will allow Motherhouse Collective to provide access to all of our quality programming without add-on fees. This means members will have access to virtual workshops, expert-led webinars, and in-person events with childcare—all at no additional cost. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of people like you. 👉 Learn more and support this mission: https://lnkd.in/eiBz3FUv Thank you for being part of the movement to redefine motherhood support systems. Together, we can create lasting change! 💕 #Motherhood #Nonprofit #Community #MothersSupportingMothers
