Ask These Questions Before Making a Career Change Considering a career change? It’s perfectly okay—after all, change is the only constant. However, a career shift is not a decision to make on impulse. It requires careful thought and introspection, as the consequences are significant. Before taking the leap, pause and ask yourself these 5 crucial questions to ensure you're making the right move: 1. Why do I want to change careers? - Understand your motivations. Are you running away from something, or are you genuinely drawn to new opportunities? 2. What are my long-term goals? - Does this new path align with where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years? 3. What skills and experience do I bring to the new field? - Identify transferable skills and gaps that need to be filled. 4. Am I financially prepared for the transition? - Assess if you have the resources to support yourself during the shift. 5. Have I researched the new industry thoroughly? - Make sure you understand the realities, challenges, and opportunities of your desired field. A thoughtful approach will help you make a decision that’s not just bold but also wise. #CareerChange #CareerGrowth #MindfulDecisions

"I remember standing at a crossroads in my career, questioning whether it was the right time to move on." There’s no universal answer, but here’s what I’ve learned: 🔸Growth: Are you still learning and growing in your current role? If not, it might be time to look elsewhere. 🔸Fulfillment: Do you wake up excited about your work? If the spark is missing, it’s worth exploring new opportunities. 🔸Opportunities: Does staying in your role align with your long-term goals? If not, switching might open new doors. I made the leap once, and it wasn’t easy. But it was worth it. If you’ve ever wondered about the “right time,” trust your instincts and focus on what aligns with your personal and professional growth. What helped you decide when to switch jobs? 🔹️Career Growth Isn't Always a Straight Path 🔹 In an ideal world, career progression would be a straight, steady path. But life often has other plans. Over the past three years, I’ve had to make a few career moves—some by choice, some due to personal circumstances. While job changes are often seen as red flags, I see them as experiences that have shaped me both professionally and personally. Each role has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in different environments. It’s disheartening when certain opportunities become out of reach just because of a non-linear career path. But I believe that skills, dedication, and the willingness to contribute should matter more than the number of years in one place. To those who have faced similar challenges—remember, your journey is yours, and every step adds value. And to companies that focus on potential over patterns—you’re building a workforce that truly thrives. Looking forward to connecting with like-minded professionals who believe in growth, adaptability, and second chances. 🚀 #CareerGrowth #Adaptability #Resilience #HiringForPotential #LearningAndDevelopment #JobSearch #CareerJourney

Making decisions about how to move your career forward can feel really daunting. Whether it's considering a promotion, changing roles, or taking on new responsibilities, these choices can be tough. When it feels as though you're going round and round with the same thoughts, putting some structure in place around that thinking can help to break the cycle. I have developed a framework to help with exactly this and move you towards having a useful set of criteria that inform your decision-making. It includes looking at your Journey so far, your Identity, your Goals. Then moving into your Strategy, Actions and Way Forward. It's amazing how much clearer things can become when you take the time to step back and properly work through it step by step. I've seen many people go from feeling stuck, confused or overwhelmed to seeing a way forward that they feel positive, clear and confident about. Curious about how this approach might help with your next career decision? I'm always happy to chat. Drop me a message if you'd like to set up a free discovery call. #CareerDecisions #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerJourney

Strategies that land you your ideal next career move are 50% clarity, 30% authentic positioning, and 20% execution. However, most people have it backward and spend 50% or more in execution mode. This is your invitation to: 1. Stop 2. Pause 3. Get focused 4. Define your target 5. Get genuinely interested in your target and learn as much about it as possible. And, bonus tip, before you get all hot and bothered about “making the right choice” or feeling like you’re "missing out" on opportunities that you don’t even know about yet. Remember, it doesn’t matter if you accidentally choose the wrong target or the slightly wrong target or haven’t stumbled upon what you don’t know yet. It will end up shaking itself out in step # 5. But, only if you pick something and start moving forward, with genuine curiosity. Focus on learning with intention instead of landing with urgency, and you’ll get a better outcome (usually faster and more enjoyably). #Careers #Jobsearch #CareerTransition #Jobseekers
