Over thirty-five thousand innocent people have been murdered and much damage has been done as a result of the significant decline in the situation in Palestine over the past eight months, which has raised tension and violence. The world is taking notice of the region once more as governments, activists, and organizations demand a stop to the violence and a fresh push for peace. My fellow Americans, the only way to get Russia, China, Sudan, Ethiopia, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, DRC, or any other country to respect human rights & international law, is for us to consistently do it first. We don’t have to be “the world’s policeman”, but as the world’s leading superpower & democracy, by consistently helping Israel violate international law & human rights for decades, we’ve been giving other countries license to do the same. And we’re still giving Israel more weapons for its ongoing genocide, abusing our U.N. veto power to protect them, & threatening the International Criminal Court to prevent Israeli leaders from being arrested for war crimes. The precedent that we’ve been setting by enabling Israel’s genocide & racist apartheid helps create more injustice & violence all over the world, not less. And more resentment towards America & Americans all over the world, not less. Half of the world has been calling us hypocrites for years, & now the rest are too.  And they will laugh in our face when we ask them to respect international law & human rights.
