We’re excited to share that our entire organisation, including the Information and Services, Healthcare Professionals, Social Welfare Specialists, and Fundraising teams, came together in person to discuss the progress of our 2024-2027 MSA Trust Organisational Strategy. Later, we were joined by our Trustees to further review our strategic direction. We look forward to updating our members on the progress we’re making and how we plan to move forward in the coming years!

We asked our members what are the three most important changes they want from government – our new video reveals what they said: 1.Sustainable funding solutions – including expanding statutory provisions to include social welfare advice 2. A cross-departmental advice sector strategy – to ensure free, independent accessible advice throughout the UK 3. A workforce development strategy – to support staff recruitment, development and retention Thank you to Nishkam Civic Association, Talking Money and Lisa Clark for your contribution to our video and all those members who shared their ideas with us. 🏠 We’ve launched a new online tool to help people who are looking for social housing understand how long they may need to wait so that they can consider all their available housing options. We worked alongside residents to design our new tool and tested several early versions to ensure it was easy to use. The tool gives people an estimate of their waiting times as well as information about other rehousing options and support including: 💷 advice on welfare benefits 🏠 support to find a privately rented home 🤝 moving by mutual exchange. Check out the tool here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJewaQhi

Adrian Rogers, a prominent pastor and theologian, wrote a thought-provoking note, back in 1931, on wealth distribution that raises questions about economic equality and the balance between charity and personal responsibility. 😟 This statement underscores the potential risks of redistributive policies that, in Rogers' view, may disincentivize both work and innovation, ultimately leading to an unsustainable economic model. It's a caution against relying too heavily on government intervention for social welfare, suggesting that it can erode the work ethic and personal responsibility. #WealthDistribution #EconomicEquality #SocialJustice #Redistribution #PersonalResponsibility #SocialWelfare #PublicPolicy #IncomeDisparity #GovernmentIntervention

A Vision for Comprehensive Municipal Reform Reimagining Governance: Power to the Municipalities The call to abolish provincial governments is not merely about reducing bureaucracy—it's about reimagining how governance can best serve the public. By empowering municipalities to directly manage policies from education, healthcare, support for seniors and from economic to environmental, we can create a governance system that is more responsive to the immediate needs of citizens. This series of reforms, from economic policies to social welfare initiatives, paints a picture of a system where decisions are made closer to the ground, leading to governance that is more accountable, flexible, and reflective of the diverse needs of Canada’s communities.
