Day 7 of 30 days LinkedIn visibility challenge Championed by my brother and friend Israel Onu Odiba . . . . An article compiled some years ago by yours truly Joseph Ofem on THE IMPACTS OF GIRL CHILD EDUCATION💡💡💡 In summary... The Girl-child education is as important as owning a poultry farm where you can have just one female bird reproducing and populating the farm thereby bringing income and as well be used for consumption. The Girl-child education cannot be overemphasized using the current Director General of the World Trade Organization (Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) as a point of contact who has served in several prominent positions both Nationally and Internationally as a result of the Girl-child education she acquired; with other notable female figures who are occupying positions politically, religiously, socially, as well as other facets of life. The girl child should not be given out for early marriage in order not to deter that child from what she can achieve with the potentialities in her, but should rather be given a proper and genuine education which will help the girl child sprout in all facets of life. Finally, education is the right of every girl everywhere and key to transforming her life, her community and the society at large. Without education, girls are denied the opportunity to develop their full potential and to play a productive and equal role in their families, their societies, their country and their world. For the menace of gender inequality that leads to Gender based violence to be curbed, there’s need for the Girl child education to be promoted and as well taken into serious consideration across board. ✍️ Joseph Ofem #EDUCATEAGIRLCHILDANDBUILDANATION#

Indian Women on the Global Stage Hey folks! Here's some exciting news: Indian women are taking the world of higher education by storm, especially overseas! Countries like the US, UK, Europe, and Australia are becoming hotspots for ambitious Indian women looking to pursue their dreams. With companies worldwide pushing for more women in the workforce, Indian ladies are seizing the opportunity to further their education abroad. And guess what? There are tons of scholarships and funding options specifically for them, making their dreams even more reachable. Data from education consultants and loan providers reveal a big shift. Nearly half of all students applying for overseas courses and seeking financial aid are women! And get this—it's not just happening in big cities; smaller towns are in on the action too. Education consultants are seeing more and more women applicants, jumping from 20-30% in FY21 to a whopping 40-45% in FY24! And guess who else is noticing? Financing institutions are seeing a surge too, with demand skyrocketing from 25-30% to 35-45% in the same period. Why the surge? Well, Indian women are hungry for academic excellence and career growth, both at home and abroad. Plus, with society rallying for gender equality, there's never been a better time for women to spread their wings and soar. Future Forward: As opportunities for women in higher education keep expanding, we're expecting this trend to pick up even more speed. And you know what that means? More Indian women are making waves on the global stage, bringing positive change both for themselves and for society. #GlobalEducation #WomenEmpowerment #Studyabroad #EducationConsultant

Important of Woman in Indian Education System 👩🦰 Women have always played an important role in the Indian educational system. Certainly, we all have that one teacher in our lives that we still refer to as our "Favourite Ma'am". Empowering women educators is critical to societal growth. In India, women such as Savitribai Phule and Annie Besant have been educational trailblazers, paving the way for a more inclusive and fair learning environment. Let us commemorate some of India's most remarkable women who helped to alter the country's education system. Here are some notable names, along with their major contributions: Savitribai Phule started one of India's first girls' schools in 1848, bucking cultural restrictions and paving the road for women's education. Worked to eliminate customs such as child marriage and advocated for widow remarriage. Fatima Sheikh co-founded the first secular school for Muslim girls in Mumbai in 1846, breaking down obstacles to Muslim women's educational opportunities. She also advocated for women's rights and challenged societal biases against female education. Anasuya Sarabhai founded the Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (ATIRA) in 1947, which offered vocational training to women. She performed an important role in advancing women's education and empowerment throughout Gujarat. Sarala Devi Chaudhurani founded the Bharat Stree Mahamandal in 1910, which promotes women's education and social changes. Worked to improve the lives of widows and advocate for women's rights. These trailblazing women encountered enormous cultural difficulties and hostility, but they persisted in their efforts to change the school system and empower women through education, eventually opening the way for future generations of Indian women to access education and opportunity. The Particular Quality That Sets Women Educators Apart: NURTURING INSTINCT: Women frequently have a predisposition to be nurturing and compassionate, which is advantageous in fostering a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere for pupils. ABILITY TO JUGGLE MANY TASKS AT THE SAME TIME: Women are typically good at handling several things at once, which is useful in a classroom environment. EMPATHETIC COMMUNICATION: Women are frequently recognised for possessing highly empathetic communication abilities, which can facilitate the development of significant relationships with pupils. The capacity of a female educator to engage in active listening, comprehend the viewpoints of her students, and communicate with empathy can foster a supportive and welcoming learning environment. Taken one by one, we may conclude that, indeed, women do constitute the backbone of the Indian educational system #RoleOfWomenInIndianEducation #WomenInEducation #IndianEducation #GenderEquality #Empowerment #EducationForAll #WomenInEducation #GirlsInSTEM #WomenLeadersInEducation #navratrispecial

According to a recent report by the Economic Times, nearly 50% of Indian students who aspire to study abroad are women. This marks a significant increase from 20-30% of female student applications in FY21 to 40-45% in FY24, indicating a growing trend. 🌍 New study release: Widening participation in marginalised communities We are thrilled to share the insights from our study, focusing on how young people aged 13-15 from marginalised communities in #Bangladesh, #Nepal, #Senegal, and #Sudan are accessing technology and learning English. This research is crucial for understanding and addressing the barriers to equitable education and skill development in under-resourced regions. 🔹 #English Language: The study highlights the critical role of English in education and employment. It is seen as a gateway to better job opportunities and global connectivity. However, limited English proficiency can restrict the effective use of technology, creating a barrier that needs to be addressed. 🔹 #Technology: Students view technology positively, seeing it as a powerful tool for learning and job searching. Despite challenges like power outages, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the use of mobile phones for educational purposes. Access to devices varies significantly, with some students borrowing from family members or friends to support their education. 🔹 #Gender: Gender differences significantly impact access to technology. Girls often face stricter household rules and more monitoring of their technology use. Despite these challenges, girls show a keen interest in learning English, driven by ambitious future goals, and are often more focused on research and content sharing compared to boys. The findings of this study underscore the interconnectedness of technology and English learning. To promote #InclusiveEducation and skill development, it is essential to ensure equal access to both technology and English learning opportunities, regardless of background or gender.
