Here are some insights into why Muslims fast: 1. Spiritual Connection: Fasting is a means to get closer to Allah. 2. Empathy: It allows individuals to experience the daily challenges faced by those with limited access to food. 3. Self-Discipline: Fasting is a practice in creating and maintaining self-discipline. 4. Humility: It fosters a sense of humbleness and gratitude. For employers, I encourage a bit of flexibility and understanding during this period. Acknowledge the significance of Ramadan and consider cutting some slack to those observing fasts. To employees fasting, remember the importance of maintaining your regular work routine without constantly highlighting that you are fasting. Do you find others questioning about #Ramadan? Well, the answer lies in getting clarity about your personal goals in Ramadan and how to make it equally comfortable for others through effective #communication. Ramadan is a blessed month for Muslims all over the world. Still, it also offers a chance to increase our productivity, discipline ourselves and adopt healthy habits other than the spiritual side. We not only leave food but also the things that bring harm to us or others. A journey towards becoming a better human being, practice patience, and become tolerant towards things that result in anger or discomfort. However, there are a couple of things we can do to not compromise our work vs our indulgence in worship in a #diversified workplace. Feel free to discuss the #flexibility of working hours and the expected outcomes with your team and supervisor. Give them #confidence of delivering the results even with a different routine. Make others #comfortable eating and drinking around you, especially those who are not fasting, as it's all about self-control and not asking others to abstain from eating. Explain the true #essence of Ramadan and respect other schools of faith. Show a #positive change through your behaviour and acts. Have a blessed month of Ramadan
