Great partnership between #Sunflowerlabs and #Alarm.com. This drone looks fairly cheap and that’s a good thing. Neither Sunflower nor Alarm.com is a camera or security device manufacturer. Their continued innovation will likely focus on flexibility and replaceability for sustained operation. The user cannot be afraid to lose a drone because it costs too much. This also makes it easier to demonstrate the ROI for reducing reliance on networked video and guard forces for alarm assessment and patrolling. Other camera or security device manufacturers who have ventured into this market have emphasized camera optics and drone design. The challenge with this approach is that you don’t need prosecution quality imagery when assessing whether the sensor at the perimeter was triggered by a deer or a human. You need a small cheap drone to get to the area fast, and to be able to replace it quickly (or even automatically) if environmental conditions or adversary action causes a loss of signal or control of the drone.
Come see our system integrated with Alarm.com on the show floor at ISC West '24. We are doing live demos from the house near by that has all the Alarm cameras and sensors installed that deploy the drone automatically. Link to the announcement is here: https://lnkd.in/dTfBXvVy

According to a GHSA report, over 7,300 pedestrians were killed by drivers last year – a 14% increase from pre-pandemic levels. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is one developing area of ADAS that may be able to help mitigate these trends. Teledyne FLIR is taking a new approach to AEB by adding thermal imaging. With NHTSA’s new FMVSS No. 127 rule set to mandate AEB systems in vehicles by 2029, VSI Labs and Teledyne FLIR are exploring advanced thermal nighttime testing protocols. Join us during #PedestrianSafetyMonth on October 16th for a virtual panel with Mike Walters of Teledyne FLIR and Phil Magney of VSI. They’ll share insights from their recent testing, explore the current state of AEB, and discuss how thermal cameras could improve road safety for everyone. Register at https://lnkd.in/gwrcpsQz

In the evolving landscape of automotive technology, ensuring the safety of all road users is paramount. One area that’s often overlooked in traditional radar systems is the vehicle's corners—crucial zones that play a key role in preventing accidents and enhancing situational awareness. bitsensing Inc.'s Advanced Corner Radar is designed specifically to address this challenge. By providing precision, classification, and long-range detection, this technology significantly improves detection in areas that are typically blind spots, offering better protection against potential collisions. Whether it’s navigating through busy intersections, changing lanes, or parking in tight spots, corner radar enhances a vehicle's ability to perceive its surroundings accurately and respond effectively. Check out the real-time demo of our advance corner radar 🚗 #VehicleSafety #CornerRadar #bitsensing

👣 What is the hard part of learning to walk with adaptive feet? Find a reliable and efficient model - yes model - to simulate them! Thanks to Antonello Scaldaferri, Franco Angelini, and Mathew Jose P. for the legacy! Details ⬇
Ph.D. Candidate in Robotics Engineering at the Research Center "E. Piaggio" of the University of Pisa
In our recent work, carried out at Centro di Ricerca "E. Piaggio", together with Franco Angelini and Manolo Garabini, we investigated learning-based dynamic locomotion control of quadrupedal robots equipped with passive adaptive feet, capable of detecting terrain profile information. We explored the use of blind, perceptive, and haptic strategies, exploiting the terrain information coming from the feet IMU sensors. Check the video below for further details and achieved results.
