For WarCollar Industries, LLC supporting causes like the DAV 5K means more than sponsorship—it’s about honoring the sacrifices made by our military veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, many of whom are part of our own workforce. We recognize the immense value these individuals bring, and initiatives like this reflect our company’s dedication to creating a supportive, inclusive environment for veterans and their families. While most #Veterans transition smoothly into civilian life, some face service-related challenges that expand the federal governments capacity to address. For those of us in the #VeteranSpace, the need often feels, unending. Consequently, communities, often unfamiliar with #military needs, must support these Veterans. Well intentioned people across #nonprofits, #government, and #CharitableOrganizations, assume what a Veteran needs, and often duplicate services or put resources into solving a problem that doesn't exist. At Veterans Bridge Home, collective impact, remains at the forefront of our mission. Using technology systems like Unite Us with our community partners like Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and The Jeff Cohen Charitable Foundation allows for us to provide wrap around services across the social determinates of health. Even better? We can document those instances to demonstrate what #CharlotteVeterans greatest needs currently are and target our efforts on ensuring those partnerships remain strong. #VeteransBridgeHome #BeTheBridge

Today, as we pause to honor Veterans Day, we are reminded of the courage, resilience and selfless service that define our nation’s veterans. With one in five Lockheed Martin employees proudly wearing the badge of veteran, we hold their contributions close to our mission and values every day. We can all find meaningful ways to express our gratitude for those who have served; join me in taking action by considering one of the following ways you can honor veterans today: 1. Attend or participate in community Veterans Day events. 2. Volunteer with veteran organizations. 3. Write and send thank you notes to a veteran or their family. 4. Support veteran-owned businesses. 5. Observe a moment of silence. 6. Simply say thank you and shake a veteran’s hand. 7. Donate to veteran support charities. 8. Host or attend a Veterans Day lunch. 9. Post a tribute on social media. 10. Display the American flag with pride. While today is a moment to celebrate those who returned home, we also honor the memory of those we have lost, whose legacy reminds us that freedom is never free. To all veterans—thank you for your unwavering commitment to our country. Your sacrifices are not forgotten, and your impact lives on through the lives you have protected and inspired. #VeteransDay

How to Make Your Contribution Count on Defence Day Here’s a bold truth: celebrating Defence Day is not just about remembering the past; it actively shapes the future. Each year we celebrate 6th September as the day when all the brave soldiers saved our homeland. But that's also a reminder that, yes, we can make a difference to our nation's strength in our own small way. Be it innovation, education, or community service, Defence Day provides us with the opportunity to ask ourselves: "What can I do today to make a difference? It is all about the power of impact. Sometimes, it is all so easy to be overwhelmed by the thought that only big things matter. Actually, though, the small, well-meant efforts we make in daily life create long-lasting ripples. Here's how you can be a part of the spirit of Defence Day, no matter where you are: 1. Support Veterans and Their Families: Your donation, your time to volunteer, or even just a kind word can make so much of a difference. 2. Educate Yourself about National Security: Awareness is the first step towards effective action. Read. Learn. Engage. 3. Give Back to Your Community: We're all in it together. Take responsibility and start helping others so they can be of service to one another within the community. It is together we can build a future brighter than the sacrifices made by our ancestors. P.S. How are you going to contribute your part to this Defence Day? Please let me know in the comments below!
