PR Dilema Though apprently PR is really a growing phenomenon; but actually it has no JD or targets as even now . All CEOs ; Owners and company’s Directors think that they can perform PR better than a girl of boy having a degree in PR . Somewhat it is true as you can not learn PR by reading a book or making research paper it needs psychological insight and pragmatic approach to build it to high level . But my bad i was groupbhead PR at organisation where prerogative/ trust / initiative all were entrusted in me and organisation had a nasty habit of trusting its employees. I learnt a lot but now i see the level i have attained has no significance in corporate world these days where CEOs / Directors / Owners feel proud placing a picture with ministers potrarying themselves epitome of PR and connectivity . They even don’t know that in industries dept decsion are taken by Secretary industries and not by minister of industries. Ministers have their own exe to grind and political agendas and usually have zero insight on the dept they head . My recent interactions with CEO of a fairly large concern was not only interesting but also significant. He wrote me “we do not work with army “”. I was like ??? I asked him You do not want work with Army or you couldn’t work with Army he has no answer because he is happy with photos with some minister who also runs his business concern. So I am kind of disappointed ; an organisation from where i learnt so much has made me completely useless for others . For example; DHA Lahore is basically comes under Cantonment board and station Commnader but recently it has become a complete independent unit and organisation and they are growing in power day by day only with PR i would give full marks to late Brigadier Haroon Malik and late Brigadier Aamir Bajwa who contributed a lot in the growth and power of DHA Lahore which surpasses all DHAs . Both did this with their PR and connectivity and i salute them how they made DHA Lahore as great organisation.
