OK Travis, You got me! I feel like your last few posts were written for me. I don’t think we have ever talked before but you are literally looking into my pain and showing me how to solve it. I’m getting ready to make a couple of hires. Can we chat? This was about 6 months ago and we have had a great partnership ever since. We are getting ready to place our 4th hire with them! This isn’t a brag post. This is about who you post for. Once you know your exact ICP, you then need to build a real life emoji of who your exact PERFECT client is. Once you know this, you need to understand their pains and their needs. Finally you need to build content for that very specific person. FYI, that post he replied to had only 300 views and 12 likes. Oh yeah, you also need to throw vanity metrics out the window. Just write for your perfect client. They might just take notice.

If you are early in your advertising career, your network is razor thin. How does this impact your future? 👇🏼 Let's examine the typical expectations your company has of employees rising through the ranks: → Junior level - learn the ropes → Mid level - learn to lead → Senior level - learn to leverage relationships The path for promotion is pretty well defined and for many people, the assurance of this well lit road is sufficient for them. But alas, job security is unpredictable and there is no crystal ball to help foresee your outlook. → 40% of Americans have been laid off at least once. → 62% of layoffs typically impact a company's recent hires. When you own a car, you pay for insurance for accidents and theft. When you buy a house, you fork out an additional premium in case of perils and disasters. But there is no hedge against unemployment... The one variable that covers ALL your expenses is not insurable. 🪂 You cannot buy a professional parachute but you CAN build it yourself. The threads of your parachute are woven every time you take curiosity in a coworker's life. Celebrate their wins, both the professional and personal ones. They are strengthened every time you make the extra effort in being courteous to your partners. ✔️ Quick thank you for their proposal even if you move in a different direction ❌ Ghosting an engaged vendor and giving them radio silence The size of the parachute increases on each occasion that you extend your hand and do a favor for a colleague or acquaintance. To those who are going through unemployment or currently stuck in a toxic environment, keep your faith. The storm may be strong but whether it be a matter of days, or weeks or months, the sun always shines again ☀️ To those who are basking in warm sunlight, enjoy it, but also make time to build a safe spot should a storm come your way. ----- 88 Keys hosts social mixers for advertising professionals. It’s time to start building your team like the big boys. You’ll pay less, make more, get better results for clients, and retain your talent for far longer… IF you know what you’re doing. And by law of association, you know what you’re doing IF you let me (7 figure agency owner) and my team of agency veterans do this for you. And you won’t pay a dime if your hire doesn't perform. No placement fees. Just a simple, high-ROI hourly rate. No commitments. No bull. Let’s chat.

lol Companies with a good sense of humor can really make the work environment more enjoyable
Top talent have a high bar. Their # 1 ask? Transparency. That starts with your job description. When I joined Motion (Creative Analytics), I was shocked at how many highly qualified people were applying - I'm talking hundredssss of people with relevant experience. My hypothesis? I think the high quality of applicants is due in HUGE part to how well written our job descriptions are. (📣 P.S. shoutout to Motion's hiring managers!) We hit you in the opening paragraph with where Motion is at financially and we speak to our growth and some of our well-known customers. From there we talk about the role in detail and share what we're looking for. Some of our JDs even have our 30/60/90 day plan listed. We've had so many compliments from candidates that say they felt they knew exactly what would be required of them upfront, and that assurance goes such a long way. TLDR; Invest more time in your JDs. They matter. A LOT. Make sure you are honest in them. Don't overhype something if it isn't true. Because your reputation in recruiting is everything. ~~ 👋 Follow Libby Moyer for more. Job security is officially an illusion. Your reputation is your real safety net. As the founder of personal branding agency House of Vibes I'm working with CEO's daily and I know that being "safe" in your career is a thing of the past. 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 = Mass layoffs. If you're waiting for: - a "safe" time to make your next career move - your company to "take care" of you - the economy to stabilize Then, you’re betting your future on luck. Here's what I suggest you do instead: - Build a personal brand that speaks for you - Build relationships that create opportunities - Scale your reputation to get seen by decision-makers The career rules have changed. It's not about who you know, but about who knows you. Start betting on yourself. P.S. Are you a senior professional ready to: - Build a portfolio career you’re proud of - Land board roles that match your vision - Attract high-value advisory opportunities I’m creating a high-impact group starting in January to help you scale your reputation on LinkedIn while maintaining your professional integrity. The first 10 members get 50% off and access to 7 exclusive perks to give you an edge. Message me “Start” to learn more and secure your spot.

"𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬, “𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝"😄 But few actually provide a roadmap. Allow me to share one… Here’s how to construct a personal brand in 6 simple steps: 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 1 - 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞. Example ↳ If you work in tech, that's your space. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 2 - 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲. Example ↳ Engage with industry peers on LinkedIn. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 3 - 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬. Example ↳ Post relevant content about your industry. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 4 - 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫. Example ↳ Discuss your professional journey and accomplishments. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 5 - 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 ( 𝐈 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 1 𝐨𝐫 2 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝) Example ↳ Dedicate a few minutes each day for LinkedIn. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 6 - 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. Example ↳ Set personal rewards for consistent posting. The harsh reality is, corporate loyalty is a myth. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫. Regardless if you're a freelancer or an employee, investing in a personal brand can be your safety net when layoffs occur. Start today, before you find yourself needing it. Happy Friday, everyone! As we wrap up the week and prepare for next week’s shortened schedule, I wanted to take a moment to connect with anyone curious about the market or wondering what’s out there for someone like you in your career. This time of year, many people are pushing to hit quarterly goals, close last-minute deals, and reflect on how their year has gone. Naturally, questions come up like: Is it the same at other companies? Am I being paid fairly (salary or commission)? Where do I want to be next year, and can I achieve that where I am now? If you’ve been thinking about any of these or just want to explore your options, I’d be happy to set up a time to chat—no strings attached. Let’s connect and talk through any lingering questions you might have! #questions #staffing #Friyay #4thquarter

This week, I hired the 5th person to join our team. There are a couple of things that surfaced in the process: 1️⃣ I feel scared. After our financial struggles 2 years ago, I still feel underlying anxiety when I "have to give money away". It's involuntary. But the experience of having close to $0 revenue 4 months in a row has given me a real scare back then. And it's still present in my body. So I'm careful with expanding the team too quickly. 2️⃣ I behave ruthlessly when it comes to making decisions for the business. I know how much budget I have. I don't negotiate when offering salaries. Of course, I aim for absolute transparency so people can make decisions for themselves, but I won't compromise to be a "nice" person. I know what the business needs and what we can currently afford. So the attitude became "take it or leave it". And I feel completely emotionally unattached to the outcome. 3️⃣ I feel proud. All of our team members are actively growing their own businesses. Our SMM manager is running several ecom businesses and a fashion business consultancy on the side. Our copy editor has a successful coaching business that brings in $5K-months. Our new team member runs a community of women, and she teaches them no-code tools and building MVPs. I'm proud that we're a team of builders, creators, and entrepreneurs. Each has their own vision and goals. But we're coming together with the intention to help others build profitable businesses too. We all live what we preach. Now we just need to have mandatory fun 😂 🙌
